This is false advertising! No way you would offer the savings that most retail outlets are giving on Boxing day.
Re: BOXING DAY SALE PITTSBUGH

$1.5m in cap and 9 years in age is worth budish? short term we are both competing teams so cap is critical esp for almost identical players. long term age is everything. you guys are out of your mind.Starpainter wroteCOLONYupsgupca wroteCOLONIMO thats a pretty solid offerSuperMario wroteCOLONlol Gonchar + Budish isn't exactly an offer. i realize i've made my own share of lowballs as i say this though .facey wroteCOLONhave already offered on Whitney.

the age thing doens't matter cause you're getting a nice young prospect in return...who by-the-way tore up for Nashville at their development camp this summer. Therefore, the 9 years difference is cancelled out by Budish....because he's the youngest player in the deal.
I don't see a better offer than that, for Whitney

steve. think logically. all competing teams are right up against the cap. how does adding 1.5m make sense when i am less than 1m close to the cap and not only that but i need to compete this year. gonchar is not better than whitney. even if he is the difference is marginal. and you can say whatever you want for budish but i care about winning this year and nick is trying to do the same.sgupca wroteCOLONGonchar is better than WhitneySuperMario wroteCOLON

so 1) i'd strengthen nick by giving him more cap room. 2) id fuck myself over cap wise.
would you have added 1.5m in cap unnecessarily when you had ov, crosby and the twins?

p.s. i have better offers than that for whitney and they fit my needs more. i just havent made up my mind to move him yet/no offer has jumped at me to make me want to pull the trigger right away.

i was breaking the trade down in terms of value....
in a cap world it makes it completely different.

and you cannot break the trade down in terms of value without considering that we live in a cap world lol.sgupca wroteCOLONI wasn't suggesting cap buddy...LOLSuperMario wroteCOLON

Re: BOXING DAY SALE PITTSBUGH
to be fair, you originally gawked at the offer, calling it low-ball as if it wasn't close value-wise with no mention of anything cap related.

Re: BOXING DAY SALE PITTSBUGH
i said whitney for gonchar + budish isnt an offer worth even considering and i stand by that. for two competing teams how can cap not be a decisive factor in deciding value when all else is equal (here age is not but whatever)? i think people are separating value from cap but for me the two are interrelated.anton wroteCOLONto be fair, you originally gawked at the offer, calling it low-ball as if it wasn't close value-wise with no mention of anything cap related.
Re: BOXING DAY SALE PITTSBUGH
You called it a bad offer, a low ball; Gonchar in a slump is the same/slightly better then Whitney playing very well. But like I told you at the time, I only made that offer so that I could do another trade, as this individual trade would be a loss for me.

a "low-ball" offer implies that the vaue is way offSuperMario wroteCOLONi said whitney for gonchar + budish isnt an offer worth even considering and i stand by that. for two competing teams how can cap not be a decisive factor in deciding value when all else is equal (here age is not but whatever)? i think people are separating value from cap but for me the two are interrelated.anton wroteCOLONto be fair, you originally gawked at the offer, calling it low-ball as if it wasn't close value-wise with no mention of anything cap related.
