Re: PIT/NJD
well the price on JJ certainly plummeted fast
Re: PIT/NJD
except that both of those pieces Shiv landed are great h2h value (assuming franson signs sub 4M).
I can see both sides of the deal, solid all around IMO.

Cody Franson and Lauri Korpikoski are two amazing h2hers and likely amazing cap hits (2.5 for Korpi, Franson should sign for around that too). BBKL loves big names. I like big stats.
Bergey was man enough to offer the kind of deal I was looking for unlike most people.

Re: PIT/NJD
good trade. more a long the lines of what I thought JJ would fetch.
as long as franson doesn't regress this trade should be ok for both parties going forward.

And they just all happen to be h2h beasts.
Fuck off

Re: PIT/NJD
What's the obsession with JJ? He isn't that great IMO and Franson alone if his salary is 3.5ish could be more valuable. Last season he had 124 hits to JJ's 66, 29pts to JJ's 19, +4 to -5, with an edge to JJ in blocks, shots and SHTOI. Johnson was a double digit minus player every year in LA on a decent team and I don't see what he brings to the table that makes him much more valuable than Franson. Korpikoski is a nice depth player with modest offence who averaged 2 hits a game and was 4th in SHTOI for PHX forwards.
I'd gladly take those two over an overrated JJ any day of the week.

Can we get this guy a team please? Not because he agreed with me.Bruyns wroteCOLONWhat's the obsession with JJ? Virtually all new GMs struggle with the statistical evaluation side of things and he gets it.

Re: PIT/NJD
Appreciate it, I have patience waiting for a team just like to pop in with a post every once and a while. I have been in a few keeper leagues and like the wrinkle of the extra cats in this league since it changes player valuations from the normal who is the best offensively.SuperMario wroteCOLON Can we get this guy a team please? Re: PIT/NJD
I love this trade for Shiv, if Franson continues to improve on his season and playoff performance could be a stud, whereas JJ is pretty mediocre in H2H, and just terrible in real life as Bruyns alluded too above.

Agreed, he is already one of my favorite posters on this board, I am on the same page as him on seemingly every hockey related matter.SuperMario wroteCOLONCan we get this guy a team please? Not because he agreed with me.

Re: PIT/NJD
The reason we have a "buddy" system in place is that almost every new GM gets raped in deals in our H2H setting because it is completely different than what most people have seen. Either GMs go after super young guys and kill their h2h assets, or they lose trades outright by giving up the bigger h2h piece for the bigger name. This guy just demonstrated that he has the ability to not fall victim to either.gooker wroteCOLONSuperMario wroteCOLONNot because he agreed with me.Bruyns wroteCOLONWhat's the obsession with JJ?
