Nope. Filp was actually better when him and Stamkos were both playing.Nick wroteCOLONStamkos coming back?
People have the stupidest misconceptions (not you, people I was talking to abotu Filppula) about what the real numbers are. Filppula was on FIRE when Stammer was healthy because he was getting sheltered minutes. Now the minute Stamkos is coming back, it's "With Stamkos back he will lose PP time"...lol
But yea I've wanted Fisher for some time. I've even trashed talked him on the forums to lower his value haha.

Re: PIT/WSH
I was just asking, not a flip fan myself ( obviously , added to get mikko instead of taking flip for myself)
I agree with you, flip benefits from Stamkos in lineup.

All apart of the bargaining process Shiv; good talks and you were extremely patient with me. That I really appreciate.SuperMario wroteCOLONNope. Filp was actually better when him and Stamkos were both playing.Nick wroteCOLONStamkos coming back?

Filppula out for the Olympics and for 3 weeks at least with right ankle fracture. Thank Jesus.

Re: PIT/WSH
But he has the guy i traded and know i am going to regret in Barrie. Magically once i traded him away he started killing penalties and producing hits and BS. magine that...

Re: PIT/WSH
still a solid deal both ways
Fisher will be solid for shiv in the playoffs, and filp is younger with more offense than fisher.
this is an example of a win-win IMO
Lets be honest, Thoms team sucks as he's had a tough year with lots of injuires and some of his key guys just out-right blowing, so it's not like this trade really hurts him.

Re: PIT/WSH
Yep, and 3 weeks over the break ... i'm just missing a couple more games on top of the others I've lost. I've had too many huge loses (close categories, but a loss none-the-lesS) recently to realistically think I can charge my way back into the playoffs to get smoked. I don't want the team to be on the 'treadmill' of mediocrity'. Albeit it certainly runs the risk of that. I'd rather shoot for some higher upside deals and take a step back with the ++ injuries, and regroup next year.
The team is shaping up like this;
Neal - Filppula - Patches
Brown - Hanzal - Lucic
Galenchyuk - Slater - Wilson
Lapierre (C) - MacKenzie (C)- Irwin (D)
Keith - Hamhuis
Seidenberg - Tyutin
Souray - ______
Bench Options: Tlusty, Klesla on a gilbert contract, Etem, Maroon, McNeil, Tropp, Petrovic
Rinne healthy after year off.
Prospects (top50ish ones): Khoklachev, Rattie, Pelech
Others: McCabe, Collberg, Frk, Grenier, Fasching (huuuge post draft year),
Plys soms AHL/NHL types on D/F: CUnningham, Goloubef, Ness,
Hopefully I can turn this ship around a bit. Yea I hated being blocked from this site.

Re: PIT/WSH
Amazing that lineup doesn't make the playoffs
Re: PIT/WSH
Looks good Thom, only suggestion I could make would be to trade me Hanzal for some picks and then you would most definitely be headed in the right direction.
Re: PIT/WSH
It's been the injuries, and I hate to use that as an excuse. But at the start WSH didn't have the depth to take them in stride. Souray all year. Seidenberg lost halfway through, Rinne. Big cap hits. Slater who is a BBKL C monster (3min SHTOI, great at FOW, hits, blks for a F). I simply didn't have the depth to withstand it. Plus the normal random week here and there for Neal/Patches/hammer/others. Surprisingly HAnzal has had a healthy year for once.Nick wroteCOLONAmazing that lineup doesn't make the playoffs
Next year I'll be back and with an 'upward' trajectory rather than stable (As Shiv has correctly criticized me for!).
I still have a couple big moves to make to get my 'vision' on this team.
And two starting goalies for the offseason.
