Gj pete, i like this trade for you.
Re: PIT/DAL
Kassian + 3rd for Moulson + 1st...
Shiv's offers to me for either of these parts was closer to the 3 rd in value...

I am okay with losing a deal to Pete. Can't lose a deal to my competition Nick. I already gave you Mikko so you have better chances of beating Mike in the playoffs

Re: PIT/DAL
ya i'm not a kassian fan myself either
if that was offered i'm not sure why Matt didn't accept, he seems smarter than that IMO (i think matt owns kassain anyways)

No surprise. Pete is a good gm. Smart asset managment

Imo that is Pete recognizing that those are two overpayments and worth doing. I've heard of way too many overpayments turned down over the past few days for the reasoning of not enough, could be a lot more success stories like pete here.KapG wroteCOLONNo surprise. Re: PIT/DAL
I dont mind passing along praise every now and then. I can come across as an asshole who sometimes is prone to arguments (i work on it), but im actually a nice gm i think!Peter wroteCOLONwell shucksKapG wroteCOLONNo surprise. Pete is a good gm. Smart asset managment

Agreed. It can be tough to pull the trigger sometimes. Its only in the last year and a half that ive bcome very active in our trading community but its no surorise that ive made the biggest improvements in that time. I mean...i dont want to pump my own tires (ok maybe a bit lol) but ive got a pretty competitive team with lots of growth left in key players alrewdy playing as well as some great nhl rewdy youngins and this is all while losing kovalchuk annnnd burmi. Two very useful pieces. Moral of my lil rant? Active trading, if done properly can make you so much better in a short amount of time.shooker wroteCOLONImo that is Pete recognizing that those are two overpayments and worth doing. Oh, its very fun too!
Re: PIT/DAL
I think its a pretty simple concept to improving.. buy low, sell high, and have growing foundation of youth and upside.
That being said I don't think I'm one of the good active gms. I just trade for player I like a lot and think will get better and generally ignore random h2h stats on 30 years that have no relevance to my team.
You can get a lot better really quickly in the lower middle spectrum of bbkl by making good trades, but trying to maintain a bottom team for high picks and having limited assets calls for a really patient process. Like I don't really intend on getting out of the basement until after the 2015 draft, and thats assuming most of my players pan out and I've got close to a top 9 on f and top 4 on d of young striving players in the nhl.
