Sad is the day I agree with Shiv, but yeah my team isn't nearly as complete as you maybe think Shook. Losing a few players this offseason to Europe hurt me a fair bit. I'll be looking to add players like Iggy in a year or two maybe, but not yet.SuperMario wroteCOLONHave you met Josh, Cliff, KyleNYR? No way they take on Iggy, unless it's a home run deal for them.shooker wroteCOLONdisagree. I think there are many mid build teams that will pay up for someone like him after they explore other options. The ANA, CGY, NYR etc. Teams that are closer to winning than not and are looking to upgrade. They will pay for someone like iggy as players with similar output but younger cost triple what the asking will be for iginla. It's a smart trade for them.SuperMario wroteCOLONIt's not that Iggy isn't a great player. It's this year's cap ceiling.
Shook, I think you are completely wrong about more teams being interested in him as the season goes on. Kyle has had Iggy on the block since last year when the cap was 70.2.
The only kinds of teams that would be interested in Iggy are like mine or your or Nicks (most of which can't afford him), or rebuilding ones who likely will not part with great building pieces for him.
Kyle will have to lose the Iggy trade in order to move him - something he hasn't made peace with yet.
Not saying Iggy is immoveable btw, I'm saying KyleBOS will have to lose the trade to shed the cap, which is something that is tough to accept this year but you eventually have to like myself, Nick, Steve etc. have done.

Funny you agree with him as he was insulting you guys and suggesting you only make trades when they are home runs for you lol. I am guessing however you didn't pick up on that haha.Sensfanjosh wroteCOLON

Fair enough though, I haven't looked at your roster in a couple months. My comments were more directed at the market I saw, the middle teams, rather than your team in specific.

Re: Iginla
I would only take Iggy if it was a homerun deal for me right now so Shiv was correct in that regard haha so I caught it. Most deals I'm a bit more flexible on if its something that at least makes sense for my team. Lots of proposals coming my way where I get older and take on cap for negligible upgrades that are easy to reject.

Feel free to post the bad offers I have made to you Tony, or perhaps you'd care to post the ones you've made to me the past few weeks?

I meant that Iginla is a bad fit for the teams you listed and they would require overpayment to take him on.

Re: Iginla
Trading Iggy Kyle will almost forsure get less scoring in return, at least for the next season or two. It has to be that way... and that's not a loss, just a change of some value being in the 'potential' part of the equation, and iggy having some negative due to the 'age' and bad playoff portion of the equation.
Getting a dress-able roster piece, like a sub 2M shot blocking dman + a waiver exempt sub-1million dollar piece and than even a mildly interesting prospect could be a deal that actually makes Kyle harder to face in a week.
And yes, it does help the team that pays that price too, they just landed a useful scoring forward, no he's not the 'best' cap use, but when you have room, don't invest value in something that isn't helping you.

Why would you say "have you met" to those guys if it wasn't a personality directed comment? One wouldn't use such wording if you were strictly talking about where their teams are and thus requiring overpayment. "Have you met" suggests it is a personal reason that will make this overpayment necessary. That is why I assumed the worst lol.

Re: Iginla
no interest in iggy but thanks for thinking about me guys.
Re: Iginla
I offer lopsided trades all the time. As I've said before, I will usually do this as a way to gauge another GMs value on that player(s) or if they're even up to trading them. If that's such a headache for you, I'll skip you ...Sensfanjosh wroteCOLONFeel free to post the bad offers I have made to you Tony, or perhaps you'd care to post the ones you've made to me the past few weeks?

"Have you met" - was more of a shot at you for pretending to know what the hell you were talking about when you threw out CGY, NYR and ANA. You clearly do not understand what those GMs have planned for their teams, what challenges their teams face going forward or their personal plans for eventually becoming powerhouses in this league.
Your constant comments about all the "terrible" offers are very true. But because I make so many offers I understand almost exactly what each GM is looking for in this league (and also why I make so many trades despite making so many bad offers).
Also - you should stop assuming the worst in people. It's a bad attitude.

LOL that made me laugh pretty hard. By assuming I assume the worst in everyone aren't you doing the same thing?
go outside, get laid or something man because you are letting this league get to you.

It's cute that you're on the internet trolling about getting laid. Those usually start with a V and end in an N with IRGI in between.shooker wroteCOLONLOL that made me laugh pretty hard. By assuming I assume the worst in everyone aren't you doing the same thing?

Re: Iginla
Unfortunately Shiv that one doesn't hurt Mr.Bryan. Guy has probably gone in to make sure he didn't catch something after a crazy weekend more times than you've been laid.
