They are not good enough at any one posisition to pass on the better player. If they believe Taylor Hall is the BPA, and the general consensus is that they do, they will take him.

I find it funny how many people mention eberle as a C because of hockey db or where-ever they get it.

the kid never plays C.... not in either of his WJC, not in the AHL, not for canada at WC... ye... he took some draws for regina... but come on here people! watch some hockey before commenting on players/prospects

oh i didn't know that. lol im an idiot. but isnt that an even better reason to think edm takes the center? and as far BPA is concerned i think its much closer between hall and seguin. but you guys obviously know more. we'll see. im praying hall goes to boston of course.

Logically I would agree with you, I even believe Seguin is the better player based on my viewings, that being said Edmonton has been HEAVILY linked with Hall since day one, it would be a surprise for them to select Seguin. Besides as good as we all think Penner, MSP, Eberle etc are they are not proven, and their top line LW, Hemsky is said to want out as a UFA after next season...So it might not be entirely irrational to take Hall.

i can see both sides of the argument.

they actually do have 2 very talented natural C's everyone here has neglected to mention (sam and andrew)

and i believe the slighting faster, slightly tougher style of hall is more suited to what the oiler wants... the bruins will love seguin... but they obv don't care if its hall who falls to them... he'll easily replace kessel's goals..

MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONWow...Stupid trade by Pittsburgh...Especially with Savards concussion, age, and inevitable Seguin selection...Savards days as a prime time #1 center are numbered IMO. To be fair Sedin isn't that young either, but only seems to be hitting his prime now, whereas Savard appears to be ending his.
Agreed 100%, Hey man Sedin played great for you!. OH WAIT once again you traded players before they even got off the plane in Pitts.
