Pete i do the same regarding youngplayers. Its part of the fun imo...
I could pick up some great 30+ pieces that have great bbkl numbers but id rather find young guys to fit those roles. Harder and takes longer but meh. Wo i think im similar to you in that sense. Been that way for a long time fir me

Imo that is Pete recognizing that those are two overpayments and worth doing. I've heard of way too many overpayments turned down over the past few days for the reasoning of not enough, could be a lot more success stories like pete here.
Yup, there are still guys out there that recognize an overpayment and appreciate the deal they are getting. Pete is one of those guys.
Then others just say "its good but not enough"
Oh well, that just leaves good deals for pete more often!!

Nice grab Pete. I think Shiv will regret this when he is traded to LA and goes on fire. Patience is a virtue. Steve Downie is awesome getting scratched every other game or playing that 4th line.

I almost didn't move him because of this. But the reason I had to was because Moulson is out till after the olympic break. What if he misses round 1 of our playoffs (5 weeks away). If he has a fractured arm, it's not out of the question. I couldn't risk that.
I know for a fact I will regret this deal. I tried to lose a deal to multiple GMs but everyone was giving Moulson the value he displayed in Buffalo without accounting for what a trade would do for him. I constantly heard lines like "his stats in BUf suck. I can't risk it." from non-playoff teams...
Literally PMed every GM. I understand why playoff teams rejected. Don't understand why non-playoff teams did.

Going to the Kings is not a good thing. That team does not score.

I was thinking the same thing shep! That would be a worst case scenario

Moulson - Kopitar or Moulson - Richards - Carter is a worst case scenario? He could also end up in PIT at Kunitz - Crosby - Moulson

La still doesnt score alot of goals shiv....they are not an offensive team. Not the game they play. Do you think otherwise?

I think that would the exact reason they go out and acquire Moulson...to help score more goals. And they have the talent at C (Kopitar, Richards) to make it work. Moulson could reach a 70 point pace there. He was closer to 85 with JT.

It's their playing style. They have plenty of offensive talent.
Pittsburgh would be the best fit for sure.
Kunitz - Crosby - Moulson
Jokinen - Malkin - Neal
Wow..

I agree Shiv. This year in BBKL iz BIZARRO YEAR. Teams with cap space and rebuilding have and have had opportunities to milk contenders that are begging to pay.

I think some contenders think their offers are better than they really are. (Not directed at anyone in particular)
I've had cap space all year and haven't had many contenders begging to pay that I could milk. Can't speak for all rebuilding teams though and maybe I just haven't had the right assets to get a deal done. I'd be fine with any GMs who think they gave me an opportunity to take advantage of them and I turned it down to make the offer public since I can't think of any no brainer offers that a rebuilding team like mine shouldn't have turned down.

up until lately your team didn't have anything that would help a contender.....
next year when you're fighting for a playoff spot and looking to improve your roster you'll see what we're talking about.

Haha fair enough, I do realize some GMs expect a lot more than their players are probably worth.

Buffalo will be at the least, one of the finalists in next year's bbkl championship (2014-2015)
