Hey...

haha seriously though his trainers and the chiropractor etc fucked this up royal if they missed it originally. C1/C2 especially should be seen on standard head x-rays, CTs etc.

His chiropractor got ripped up quite a bit by Yale's head of neurology on prime time sports.
Yeah, and the same idiot was ripping chiropractic as a profession because there he thinks there is no scientific research/evidence about it (there is.) yet he tells listeners to go to this site whatstheharm.net to educate themselves..and its just a list of people that had complications with certain treatments with links labelled "read more" but most are dead links or irrelevant. I can't believe a doctor from Yale actually referenced this website to listeners to "educate themselves".

The whole chiropractor vs. MD debate is pretty deep and I usually choose not to get into it..but it's mostly caused by MDs thinking they have the right to monopolize the whole health care system. It's fucking sickening. It's sad that at this day and age that doctors still hate to share the spotlight.
Do you believe that chiropractors can, with their adjustments, fix non-local problems? Can the manual manipulation of the spine cure unrelated diseases? If so I'd love to see the mechanism demonstrated.
Nope, I don't at all. Chiropractors with that kind of belief are few and far between nowadays but unfortunately, it's the type of misconception and bullshit that evidence based chiropractors like myself deal with on a daily basis. I believe that with adjustments and manipulations, chiropractors can fix problems that arise from the spine, MSK, and nervous system. I promise that everything that I am taught and practice is evidence based and backed up by endless research. I have never and will never subscribe in the belief that a "pop" and a "click" and your cold or diabetes goes away theory that I think you're associating chiropractors with.

I don't agree at all with "straight" chiropractors, but as Bryan said I think its less than about 30% of them now? Either way I'd never go to one of those guys, but am aware there are a few around the GTA. The medical team as a whole was what I was directing my criticism at, and it seems they have had quite a few issues it seems. The fact he went to see an outside neurologist just shows he wasn't confident in the pens team.

I still haven't seen any news saying the type of fracture, the size, etc.

Yeah, a chiro can definitely help with a disc herniation at the L5-S1 level. A large chunk of our expertise is in the back, specifically the low back. I actually just learned how to treat/manage disc herniations so yes...a good chiropractor will be able to help.

If you have any questions about tips for handling a herniation/LBP, you can find me on msn and i'll see if I can help you out.

how about the SI joint bryan?

Physio helps for a bit, but a few hard active days and it's all messed up again for the next couple of weeks.
