I don't the relevance? Upside everywhere. I wouldn't have targeted guys like Poulin, Schenn, Wilson, OEL, Adam, or Brassard if I didn't think they'd take a step forward this year. So uhh... I don't see the burn.

Is it a rug burn, Topher?

I was just commenting on the fact that you keep saying you did something great and imo you made the team worse in the end. Everyone has an opinion and that is mine, nothing more read in to it.

Hey, the team isn't a contender. Neither was Bergey's. It's also *MY* team. Now that's something I can get behind.

Why am I not surprised you want to get behind a bunch of men?

Well... Back to back conference finals is called a contender where I come from. Berg's Canuks did it with little youth, that is true - iirc Kyle has done the same sorta thing with his Bruins with the same formula.

Not harping on your build, but saying you started off with a team in trouble is untrue.

i must admit i was quite shocked at some of your earlier moves and may have judged you unfairly. My main beef was the lifting of the trade freeze for new GM's that was put in place to protect you, the team and the league. You are right that it is your team and you could do as you please. I totally agree that you "get it" now and have made some very nice moves and acquisitions. I just think if you waited a couple weeks now knowing what you do, and me agreeing that you know your shit, you would have been better off. No slight against you. You make some good moves and some not so good but so do we all. Everyone has an opinion in here and whos to say one is right and one is wrong. Keep on trucking man, you got a nice looking young team to play with now.

you said the team wasn't a contender... but he had made two good playoff runs with that group...I'm not sure what I misquoted.

I never said I started off with a team in trouble. Bergey did a nice job with the pieces he left (thankfully). But I do resent some of the posts he made afterwards. Cunt for a cunt for a cunt.

I'm not going to complain because I asked for the trade freeze to be lifted. I was expecting to take off for a week or two for a vacation (but work got in the way). Whether I screwed up or not, I suppose that's subjective. I will say that I thought back on a couple of moves (of the 30+ I've made now), and decided that I could have done better. I definitely agree that the learning curve could be steep for some, but I think -- hope -- I'm sharp enough to figure it out quickly.

Have we even made a trade yet, Kyle? We should chat. Let's pop that cherry.

IIRC Kyle and I have never completed a deal, and we're both original members. LOL. Not on him, we just seem to have similar value trends, which prevents either side from seeing the 'logic' in an offer.

True Nick. We have discussed many players but the answer is usually the same answer i would give when i ask you and i am pretty sure you can predict my answers also. You also don't trade for the sake of trading. You get a piece you want and hold onto it. I follow that same logic for the most part.

Yea, we went back and forth a couple times with nothing really productive. You do have a few pieces that i would consider making offers on.
