One HUGE thing has changed Lee.

When I do these Power Rankings, I take the following into account:

1) How likely is it for the team to make the playoffs?
2) How tough is the road to the Championship if the team makes the playoffs?
3) How likely is it for the team to improve it's current roster given it's prospects, picks and extra nhlers?
4) Has there been a recent trade/event that has shifted the power balance?

In yours, NYI, NYR and BUF, there is a major thing that happened in the last week which has changed things with regards to #1 and #4. Kareem's team has gotten a LOT better. And this is not to compliment him. He was a major theme this week simply because that was the main bbkl event.

In the East, WSH just needs to find a goalie. He has almost 4 weeks to do so. With respect to #3, he has more than enough assets to find a goalie by giving the other Gm what he wants.

So in the East, PHI, NYR, NYI and BUF now have to beat NJD, TBL, BOS, WSH, PIT, OTT, MTL, TOR, failing category #1 up there ^. Lol it is also why EDM is ahead of NYR which upset Kyle earlier.

But one team improving drops me 7 slots, when I've improved as well?

You had a great shot at making the playoffs because You were fighting with BUF, NYI and FLA for that last spot. WSH becoming a Playoff team means you guys are on the outside looking in. It makes a HUGE difference. If you were in 7th before WSH entered the picture the fall would not have been as great.

Combo of being honest and not wanting to even be a nominee. If I thought I was likely to come #1 I would say as much, but I know youth is dangerous and unreliable, and I've built my team quiet a bit differently then what has previously been successful here in the BBKL. My first goal is to win week-1 versus Florida/Chris, and I really would like to repeat as division champion.

Shiv I think you doing these is awesome even though my own rankings would obviously be adjusted -- However your logic for PHI being behind those top 8 in the east is sound stuff IMO and the conference based power rankings is consistent with tsn style rankings -> also now the schedule is out so that could be used as well :-)

^^ Probably not Child. That's OK though....

It will still be fun watching you talk a whole bunch of shit about how good your team is, only to see you lose in the playoffs again like the last 2 seasons.

I'll say I definitely agree with the top 3 teams. My top 10 would be:

1 - TBL
2 - COL
3 - LAK
4 - TOR
5 - CHI
6 - BOS
7 - NJD
8 - MTL (don't overlook this team)
9 - PIT
10 - STL
**OTT (I'd have him 10th but STL is in the easier conference/division)
