weird signing to say the least.. if you sign for a crappy hopeless team at his age, at least should be for good money..

i doubt he was getting alot of interest, the league is trending towards, younger and usually cheaper players, for the majority of 35+ nhlers who are on the decline if you get a one way contract you take it, or you may not get another for months if ever forcing retirement or moving halway across the world

edit: scott hannan is not 35, but the point still stands, although slowly, he has been declining for the last two years of his contract

its a good deal foer him short term is the key, although being a first player theres not too much leverage he has and sj gets him on the cheap for now, if he keeps the current pace that is a steal

marchand should be around the same, maybe slightly over 3, considering his playoff contribution
