First lol, let's not take things personally. You are Kareem have some beef going on that I do not care to be a part of.KapG wroteCOLONSuperMario wroteCOLONI think only teams like Tampa, Boston, Colorado etc. can afford to have their favourite players on the teams.KapG wroteCOLONGod forbid we GMs have some players we really like, on our teams.SuperMario wroteCOLON
I've never understood why GMs get attached to players.
I mean, fuck man, this is only for FUN after all. Right?
Whether you like it or not Kyle, you will have to move Kovy in order to compete in this league. It's the only way your team will get better. Just like Bill had to trade 1st Overall this year at the draft. It is a sacrifice that needs to be made. Once you have a solid competitive team, trade for as many of your favourite players as you want. But it'll never FUN to just be a borderline playoff team.
Of course I'm not implying you should've traded Kovy to Kareem lol I'm not interfering in that argument. But you will need to trade him for value sooner or later.
I like you and all Shiv. But fuck right off if you think my team is in the same situation as Bills. I have plenty of young NHL bodies making up my roster as it is, it's not like I need to acquire more.
Take another look at my team....
Gustafsson, McBain, Sauer, Burmistrov, Bozak, Sobotka, Palmieri, Bernier, Matt Martin, Abdelkader. They all very young with plenty of room to grow potential wise and for the most part they all bring solid priphs, particularly shtoi. Then I have "vets" like Michalek, Brad Stuart, Kipper, Kovalchuk, Vanek, Steen, Halpern. Also have prospects like Klingberg, Scheifele, Sproul, Rhakshani, Marshall, Kundratek, zharkov who should all be solid H2H players in their own rights (minus rhakshani who will be a scorer if anything probably). Why do I need to trade a guy like Kovy again?
Second, I think there are three big divides in BBKL. The first is between the shit teams and borderline playoff teams. The second is between the borderline playoff teams and the mid tier playoff teams. The third is between the mid tier playoff teams and the top tier teams. Getting from where you are to a top tier team is a HUGE jump. I don't think you will ever be able to make without trading Kovy.
The comparison to Dallas was to imply that he was on the rung of shit teams last year. He jumped to the next rung this off season after trading 1st and 2ndoverall similar to the way Mash did the year before.
IMO jumping from the lowest-tier to the second lowest tier is NOTHING compared to the gap between a Mid-tier team to a Top-tier team. And this includes myself. In my power ranking I put myself at 8th for a reason. I will more than likely finish 4th/5th in the East. Boston, NJD, TBL and TOR could easily hand me a 1st round exit. For me to get to that next level, I have a long way to go.
Like it or not you will have to move Kovy if you want to go from a 7th/8th place team to a 4th/5th place team.
