I could see Brunnstrom having success in Detroit, but at this point their depth should have him competing for but a 13th forward role.

A return to Dallas could even make sense. They have a terrible bottom-six going into this season.

Wow.

I've always thought going into this season that Jersey would not make the playoffs. Their back-end is just not good enough. I said the same thing about Tampa Bay, but I don't think Jersey's big-three, in Kovalchuk, Elias and Parise, is as capable for compensating for it as are Stamkos, St. Louis and LeCavalier. Now their top center will only play a 50-60 game season.

But as we all know, coming back for surgery isn't the same as being on top of your game. Missing training time, pre-season and camp effects the entire season.
