So, we Leaf fans are supposed to be assuming he's signing here?
Re: Richards Resigns in Dallas: 7 yr 48M
No, Leafs will get Connolly some how, imo...

Re: Richards Resigns in Dallas: 7 yr 48M
Why would anyone believe this? Dallas cannot afford to resign Richards which has been established in the weeks leading up to July 1st, and Pat Morris (his agent) has stated that Richards will go to July 1st to test the FA market, and it's Shook who made the thread...If you fell for this you are an idiot.

Lol thx Kareem. I was going for, "its so far fetched that ut has to be true" lol. Also mike, all I've heard for the last six months is how its inevitable that Richards goes to Toronto, had to have a little fun with you. I agree there is a chance I just think he wants to go to a different market team who with few upgrades is a contender.

Are you kidding me? All anyone has talking about is how it is inevitable Richards will go to NYR...shooker wroteCOLONLol thx Kareem. I was going for, "its so far fetched that ut has to be true" lol. As for your last point, with Richards the Leafs are essentially a contender, with just a few upgrades needed in the bottom 6, and some internal growth (Kadri, Frattin, Schenn, Aulie); I genuinely don't believe that will be a road block like many others. What will ultimately screw the Leafs are cap circumventing deals that are front loaded in the first few years, Buffalo and the NY are willing to dish them out, Burke isn't.
Re: Richards Resigns in Dallas: 7 yr 48M
let ny have richards, signing him to some 7+ year deal would be the last thing we need, yes we want to be in the playoffs and competing but i dont want one stupid contract to make us not be able to improve our team, and go deeper in the playoffs in 1 or 2 years because of said stupid contractMSP4LYFE wroteCOLONAre you kidding me? Re: Richards Resigns in Dallas: 7 yr 48M
I don't agree, Richards is the exact type of player we need if we are going to make a run at the Cup, and he doesn't cost any assets to acquire. The cap hit will be high, but that was always going to be the case, and we have more than enough money to spend on a legit #1 center.
