Re: 2017 Waiver Draft Discussion
Season starts October 4...we'll want to start it sooner than the 30th. I'd say the 30th would be a better day for the roster submission. Give me a few days to get you guys squared away for the start of the season.
Start the draft Monday the 18th. I'd think we could bang it out in a few days...maybe a week at the most. We've got the one round and half of a 2nd round.

last year was an exception because of the (fake) World Cup and "second last Monday" for this year means Monday 18th indeedkyuss wroteCOLONFrom this season onward the Waiver Draft is scheduled to start on the second last Monday of September.
Re: 2017 Waiver Draft Discussion
Thanks guys, updated the Important Dates thread.
So, assuming that we need to do the end of the free drop period before the Waiver draft. we need to get those dates hammered out pretty quickly.
We also need to set the roster submission date.

If we do Saturday, September 30 like I had mentioned...it'll give us plenty of time do the waiver draft and it'll give me that entire weekend to get through everyone's roster submissions. The season starts that following Wednesday.
I'm proposing Saturday, September 30 at noon (Eastern). We'll have a window of almost 2 weeks to finish the waiver draft. You can start submitting your rosters any time after the draft concludes.
Also, the free agent claim period will begin at noon the day after the waiver draft concludes. We concluded last year's draft on October 4 and we started free agency claims on October 5 at noon.
The sooner the draft ends, the sooner free agent claims can begin and it might allow most of those moves to occur prior to roster submission. Free drops will end after roster submission (meaning, you can't drop signed players after you submit your preseason roster).
Re: 2017 Waiver Draft Discussion
I thought we decided that free drops should end before the waiver draft to expand the available players?

Re: 2017 Waiver Draft Discussion
I seem to remember either you or someone else suggesting we start allowing drops up to the roster submission. Which roughly meant if you leave a player off your roster submission, it means you've dropped them. I think that goes back to the Shipaychov situation also.
Re: 2017 Waiver Draft Discussion
I agree with this, don't see any advantage to disallowing free drops before roster submission when you can just leave a guy off submission which is the same as a free drop.Shoalzie wroteCOLONI seem to remember either you or someone else suggesting we start allowing drops up to the roster submission.
