CAM wroteCOLONI think Lee is right here. There has been precedence already set with respect to this issue. People have gained and lost players due to this. Roster submission is pretty serious and the one thing that you best be triple checking. The Google doc is i believe is the still the god document, correct?
fuck...if it is, then we have some major problems.
I think a quarter of guys didn't do the weekly submission.
The original roster submission before the season starts is what Cam is referring to. In season I think Fantrax is more important, but googledocs still shows you are legal in terms of salary and waiving players.

CC thread so not all can see, but it was Sean Macguire who Hong never claimed on Fantrax and listed on his roster submission every year but spelled his name wrong. Ruling was not Hong's player due to never claiming on Fantrax.
Really don't like taking a valuable player from a team and wish Nick had him on one of Fantrax or Googledocs at least so there was a record of his ownership. Also really changes the value of that waiver pick Steve just traded if he was under the impression Ship was already owned which was my assumption.
I own ship. if he's not on the googledoc then it's been lost intranslation. probably didn't exist in fantrax.
First off I'll say that personally I hope we come up with a ruling where you keep the player.
Existed in Fantrax, claimed July 9th in ADHL the player pool in Fantrax is the same for all leagues and our waiver draft was in September. It is being discussed and the issue is no one wants to take him away from you since for myself at least I know he is yours and you just had poor bookkeeping and forgot him. Like others have pointed out the problem is dishonest GMs can then leave Euros off their sheet not counting them towards the max players and then if they make the NHL then pull the oh I forgot to add him, but he is mine and precedent says that's OK.
Matthew brought up a player Casper didn't have on submission, who has since been claimed, but they were drafted before Casper took over so it was the fault of the past GM and I was in the same situation with Gaudreau not being included on my asset list when I took over and it's easy to say when it's not the current GMs fault they should keep the player.
No solution will be viewed as fair for all 31 GMs.
Personally I'm fine with Nick keeping Ship if that's permissible, he clearly meant to claim him. If it's a matter of rules are rules then so be it, I'm sure most have been stung by a rule because of a mistake and it sucks but they are there for a reason. If Ship ends up available in the in the waiver draft because of the rules and he's available when I pick then I'd definitely take him, it's nothing personal

I think almost everyone shares this sentiment, but we do have some people who are sticklers for the rules.
I'm fine with Nick keeping Ship if that's the general consensus but then what is the point of having rules that we pick and choose when to follow? What happens next time if it's a less liked member of the league? Will the CBA be appended to state this as a new rule? What is to keep someone near the roster limit from "forgetting" someone from their list, only to claim them later?
