You are trying to be funny right cause Purcell to Callahan is the same as Connolly to Soderberg?

Purcell over past 4 seasons: 177 points in 292 games.

Callahan over past 4 seasons: 175 points in 263 games.

You save the cap. Purcell pt/gm isnt as much, but you get the healthier player. Both players offense fluctuates year to year depending upon who they are playing with.

seems like a better option than moving a 50 point center for a 17 point winger.

meh, doesnt matter to me. thanks for listening.

Man, i really dont have the time to do the back and forth game that is involved in making a deal in this league now. I know soderberg is going to be productive but i also know that he has had a 23 game stretch where he had 0 goals and 5 assists. To compare to Connolly who is still very young and will now be given the opportunity in boston to fill that top line RW role is a bit close minded imo. there is a bigger picture in every trade that happens. Each person has interests or reasons for making a trade. Cap is a huge concern with me and i was able to secure a young player who i believe will be a great BBKL player. Mark my words. I take gambles on young guys who i think have break out potential. He is one. I am not scared to pay for that.

I'm pissed.

I might have enough room but doubt it.

Only change was lowering age to 27 and there are almost no good players that haven't played 120 games by the time they are 27.

I should have tried to get Soderberg instead of Iginla haha
it impacts me. arcobello, Anders Lindback, and matt hackett all become waiver eligible due to the rule change. It forces some teams to make more choices because there are going to be more waiver eligible players throughout the league than there used to be. It should help rebuilding teams grab some depth.

it also makes guys coming out of the ncaa @ 23 yrs old, and then needing a couple of yrs in the AHL a lot closer to the waiver status. Chad ruhwedel, for example, is now a lot closer for me.
Lindback was going to waiver eligible due to GP so his age doesn't matter. How many good players have been lost in BBKL due to waivers? If your going to lose someone you shop him or someone else to make room so you don't lose them for nothing. It was 120 last year which was pointed out and we still didn't have good players on waivers and changing from 28 to 26 affects a few players but no one with much value.

If someone else wants to claim players they need roster space too. I don't really get the concern over 27 year old players not being waiver exempt. Hammond and Darling are legitimate examples of players with value who are now subject to waivers and are owned by CC members who didn't put up a fuss about it.

No fuss here. I could give two shits. My guys are all waiver wire junk anyway. JP Cote, Stephan Veilleux, zolnierchuyk(whateverspelling). I did get Vande Velde of waiver claim and he has really surprized me. Carved out a special role in Philly and he pk's.

Bryuns, I actually like this change for waiver eligibility, I'd like to make that clear. I'm not fussing, just pointing out changes coming about by it.

Probably shouldn't have used "fuss". I don't think it will affect many and most won't care. Just another way to try and prevent waiver exempt players who aren't exempt in the NHL and stop teams from having too many NHLers in their minors

I think it will aid league parity in a huge way. It is already a pretty level playing field and this will only improve it.

only, age was lowered to 26, not 27.

btw, to answer an argument in this thread, this announcement about a 120gp limit is dated April 2014:

anyway, good luck to CAM with this deal. :?

Said 26 earlier, first 27 must have been a typo in that sentence
