Toronto Maple Leafs are NOT one of the teams who have expressed interest is signing Brendan Morrison.

It is my understanding PHX offered Kyle Wellwood a contract but it was 2-way and they couldn't come to terms, so he was released.

Grabner, Peters, Callahan (FLA). Also Bass, Lessard, Locke, Keller, D Smith in OTT. All on waivers. Yesterday's guys don't clear til 2moro.

I am going to be very upset if the Leafs don't place a claim on Grabner.

I would be absolutely shocked if the Leafs put in a claim.

Your only saying that because your a pessimist. Logically I would be shocked if they pass on him, we need scoring wingers with speed, grabner is a scoring winger with speed. We can afford him, and Nonis has a history with the kid.

No, I'm saying it because I have seen a ton of players hit waivers over that past 3 years that many thought were sure-fire to get claimed, only to clear. Add on to that, Grabner being soft and would have to be better than MacArthur to make the team, getting cut by the Panthers.

I just don't see it.

Name these players...Grabner is easily the best player to hit waivers over the past couple of seasons, save for Rob Schremp, and he didn't even make it to us. Ryan Jones was a nice one as well, and rumour had it we put in a claim for him, but ultimately failed because the Oilers did too.

Grabner can easily play on our bench until an injury arises, or another player gets cold. Like I said above, the only reason for you to dismiss this as a legitimate possibility is pessimism.

Best Wellwood Jokes of the day

The KHL had to call the army to arrange a c130 Hercules to come and pick him up.
I'm pouring out a 40 of gravy for the "Kyle Wellwood is fat" tag. RT @RealKyper: Sources say Kyle Wellwood is headed to the KHL.
Someone's told Wellwood you don't eat Faberge Eggs right? #KyleWellwoodIsSoFat
Wellwood to the KHL? How long until he gets cut open for the delicious caviar inside? #kylewellwoodissofat
Wellwood's going to Russia? Hope the Russians enjoy waiting in bread lines again. #KyleWellwoodIsSoFat
KHL may be planning huge expansion #KyleWellwoodIsSoFat
