It's best to ignore Kim's public offers.

Couple interesting offers at this point. Things are starting to move so if you want to get in on this I wouldn't hesitate too long.

Not so shocking to me. Goalie hostage takers are quite common here in my experience. Darling was untouchable when I had the CHI goalies, and now Dubnyk in MIN the same; barring a rape of course.

Yes It appears I'm currently in conversation with a couple of those hostage takers now. Wouldve thought the bulk of the interest would have came from elsewhere

I am not holding Dubnyk hostage. I am not trading him at this point. Period.

I think you offered something like a 2nd rounder for him, anyways, when he has been playing as the clear starter in minny since they acquired him. I wouldnt have traded him for that when he was my backup in Arizona given my goalie situation.

same response for Darling as well. For a goalies who's played for four different NHL clubs in less than a year (cleared waivers once), you'd think I was asking for a top BBKL asset or something. Assets like these should not be untouchable.

He has played NHL games for EDM and ARI - Two bad teams. He has badly outplayed other goalies on those teams during his tenure with them, putting up a career .914 sv %. One only need look at the current ARI and EDM goalie stats to see how other goalies have fared on these teams. Now that he is in minnesota he is clearly outplaying the Minny goaltenders as well. There is no reason to believe he won't become the starter given his career statistics and lack of competition in Minnesota. Anyways, just because you want a player doesnt mean i must trade him. He is clearly more valuable to me than you as he has given me a chance at making the playoffs.

Following your logic here...that makes Bryzgalov equal too Dubnyk right? Bryz sure did have some great numbers when he took over end of last season in Minny. Both were UFAs. Lucky Bryz got a job this year...

I agree with matts assessment. I personally think dubnyk is a different (unique) type asset. His stats are always good no matter where he played. I'd keep that kinda asset close to me as well myself barring something my way I really liked

Edit: eric u shud really see what kinda deal Mike swears to take for all his previous panned out goalies. I know ur personal stance on 'goalie hoarding' and at the same time I will not accuse Mike of 'hostaging them' either, but look at his past success on selling ANDERSEN, Frederik etc. Guys have an agenda on certain goalies and it's not appropriate for u to call everyone a goalie hoarding rapist every time they 'don't wanna sell' their goalie. Just my 2 cents

Bryzgalov is 34 years old and hasn't had a season with a sv% over .911 since 2010-2011. Even before that he was inconsistent; whereas, if you ignore Dubnyk's rookie season in the NHL he has NEVER had a season with a sv% below .914.

So no, I don't believe you are following my logic.

This is Fraser's thread. Let's save our banter for PM.

Kimmer I am not calling out Mike. In fact he gave me a fair deal for Mrazek.

Matthew you may not want to admit it publicly but it's the same situation from last year. Bryz or dubnyk. If not for Kuempers injury this conversation wouldn't even be happening. Fact is fletcher had his hand forced to aquire a goalie. Dubnyk will be gone after this year. You can quote this.

Mik I got a PM thread 8 pages long to show how you handle goalies lol

I like how Fraser does his business here. A good example for the rest.

Starting a 24 year old untested goalie and Backstrom as their 'tenders this year almost cost a talented Minnesota team the season. I doubt they go that route again. I hate to tell you this, but how many teams go into/make the playoffs with goaltenders that have .887 and .904 save percentages?

So.. should I say you were holding Crawford hostage?

to make it funnier.. you were obsessed by completing your system, then you indeed traded Crawford and Raanta away for a MIN system that instead of missing a depth guy it was clearly going to miss soon the starter they were about to trade for.

I spent hours working to find a solution to your G problem (and it turns out they were wasted), I gave you options where you could get complete systems different from Chicago's, I eventually gave you a price to get Darling from me even if I had (and have) no will at all to sell him.
You chose not to change your system or get Darling at that price.
I then traded you Gustafsson after you got the Minnesota system.

So there it is how I handle goalies.. simply not putting your desires on top of my priority operating list.
