NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Oh yeah I've heard about it by now
I'd be surprised if Tampa did that for the expiring contract.

I love it when this BBKL group checks in on time for roster submission after the Olympic break. This league is going to last for a while with this group
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Bah - would have loved to make some moves. I blame Alberta and the Chinese for a bad roster this week.

One or two people may actually know this guy but news is out that he retires.
Lane MacDermid.
Thought he would land a 4th line gig as Shawn Thornton type for sure...
from matchsticksandgasoline.com:
Sad news out of the Flames front office today as Pat Steinberg reports that Lane MacDermid, the 24-year-old acquired from the Dallas Stars in November for a 6th round pick, has filed his retirement papers. According to Conroy, he'd lost his enthusiasm for hockey and has decided to pack it in at a very young age, choosing to focus on other things.
The Lane MacDermid situation got a little clearer. He's officially filed his retirement papers, according to Craig Conroy. #Flames

Conroy told us MacDermid had lost his passion to play, so is moving on from his hockey career. #Flames

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I believe the leafs lock up bolland at 4.5m per over a 5 or (max) 6 year deal.
Even though he's only played 15 games for the blue and white he was one of our best players and the leafs were 11-2-2 with him in the lineup. He's proving that he's one of the best 2 way C's in the league, and those guys dont come cheap.
You also can't blame this injury on him being 'injury prone' -
worst case, sign him to a 1 year x 4 - 5 mil deal and let him prove himself. I just can't see the leafs letting bolland go, we've needed C's for years and we finally have 4 or 5 good ones under contract.
