Head-shot Doughty and Weber ... instant win. It'll give Blake Wheller something to do.

Imagine if Drew Doughty wasn't hidden in such a horrible defensive system like LAK. One that has scoring goals as it's lowest priority. Funny to say a guy can be considered hidden on a team where he won a cup as a star, but I feel he isn't allowed to play to full potential. He has been amazing this tourney.

Think Chris Zamuner er um Rob Kunitz er um, you know who I mean, had his best game tonight. I actually feel Crosby played well too. I do agree with Babcock that his best line has been the Toews/Marleau line but feel the Getz/Perry/Benn line is about to break out. I don't think we played terrible at all against Latvia. We didn't force the play and took what was given to us, the exact opposite of what killed us in the WJC. We controlled the play and used how they wanted to play us to our advantage from start to finish. Although we only scored two goals, the game was a success for me vs the earlier games of the tourney.

I predict a win for Canada against team USA not because of bias but because of pedigree. Team Canada is loaded with players that know what it takes to win. 11 Stanley Cup winners Vs 4. We also have a lot more WC winners, WJC winners etc. We have guys that know how to win and that is a very under rated quality. Could USA win? Yes, but I still feel Canada will come out on top. Afterall team USA was a more dominate team then Canada during the round robin in 2010 and we all know how that ended.

Yep, I don't think we played poorly against Latvia today at all. We outshot them and outchanced them and it wasn't even close. On another day, it could've easily been 7-1. That's the thing with short tournaments like this though..anything can happen. Kind of like March Madness..you see 15 and 14 seeds beat 2 and 3 seeds on an annual basis.

In a 7 game series against the USA, Canada would probably come out winners but in a 1 game showdown..who the fuck knows.

Agreed, it could go either way. Part of the reason I love the NFL is it's one game take all playoffs for the very reason you suggest. Although I realize they don't do series because the physical toll of each game wouldn't allow it haha.

I still go with the proven winner in a one game matchup every time though. This year, Denver had a much better record vs harder opponents, but if forced to bet money, I'd have bet on New England for sure. This is why I logistically justify my opinion on a Canada prediction on a basis other than bias.

I'm not as happy about today's performance as you two. Yes we had 57 shots on net, but it could have easily been 80 if we weren't trying to pass the puck into the net for half the game.

If we just start shooting and get over the "All Star syndrome" - over passing, respecting teammates too much, not crashing the net - we will crush the Americans IMO. If we don't they will beat us.

These guys need to realize it's not an All-Star game. Stop over-passing trying to share the puck. Be a bit greedy and fucking snipe.
