Re: PIT/FLA
Yup. The gap from Ellerby to Oduya is bigger than the gap from MacArthur to Ward like I told Chris.
But this is an instance where I overpaid for a player I have been after for quite some time. I think MacArthur is a championship piece this year. 3.25M playing on a line with Turris and Ryan, while putting up an awesome amount of Hits and SHTOI.
Ellerby has also played really well for the Jets since he came over.

Mabey a small win, however as you know I (as well as many GM'S) really like MacAthur. Ellerby is not to be underestimated either. He is a decent D-man, who is finally getting a decent shot, and is proving he fits just fine as a 4-6 Dman.

Re: PIT/FLA
Yea unlikely MacArthur moves tbh. First, I don't see anyone giving me a profit on this deal. Second, one of the reasons I justified overpaying here was the risk that MacArthur falls into a competitor's hands, which is the risk I run if I trade him.

Re: PIT/FLA
or he falls off of that line, or Ryan shifts up to Spezza's line….never a fan of valuing a guy because of who he plays with, Dupuis now off of KC-xP means he's not going to come close to previous numbers.

Way to troll my #3 and #4 wingers who would be #1 and #2 on your teamNick wroteCOLONor he falls off of that line, or Ryan shifts up to Spezza's line….never a fan of valuing a guy because of who he plays with, Dupuis now off of KC-xP means he's not going to come close to previous numbers.

Re: PIT/FLA
because they play on awesome lines doesn't make them as good as the guys they play with.
Kunitz is your legit winger, guy is good.

I was going to argue with you. But then I realized, I've already won this argument with you.Nick wroteCOLONbecause they play on awesome lines doesn't make them as good as the guys they play with.

Re: PIT/FLA
What? You obviously didn't read the thread. You didn't think Kunitz was a Top 60 winger, let alone Top 30. Which sounds like a joke now.Nick wroteCOLONLOL there you're saying he's olympic good, better than Nash, Carter, RoR, Eberle, Hall…

Re: PIT/FLA
he's a top 100. likely somewhere in the 50-70, top 30 i still find funny.

Re: PIT/FLA
the top 30 wingers in the world all make offence on their own…
Guys like Ovy, Perry, Eberle, Hall,Hossa, Sharp,Pomms, Zertty, Kane, Kane, MSL, Kessel, Sharp, Ryan,Ladd, Sedin, Oshie, Perron, Jagr, Wheeler, Parise, JvR, Lupul, Vanek, Alfie, Iggy, Skinner, Semin, Callahan, Gaborik, Marleau, Landy, RoR*, Loui, --> who in that list is he a better winger than? He's somewhere in the next tier, with Chris Stewart, Jakob Voracek, Doan, Lucic, Moulson, Glencorss, Steen**, Michalek, Ryder, (big group tired of naming wingers).

Re: PIT/FLA
LOL do you want to list Brett Hull, Pavel Bure, Teemu Selanne as well?
To put Kunitz below some of the names on your list, not just the old guys, is so ridiculous. Not going to bother.

Re: PIT/FLA
Also, I take exception with you putting Lucic in the tier below as well. Shows me you like very specific types of players.
Give me Kunitz and Lucic on my real team over Skinner and Semin every day of the week.
