you dont try to add more scoring, you try to fix the problem...the problem is they all look lost, every player on the ice....i said from the get-go that Bruble or whatever his name is wouldn't fix the problem.

fucking hire marc crawford and let them play a run-and-gun style hockey.

Giroux
Voracek
Hartnell
Schenn
Read
Simmonds
Lecavalier
Couturier
Downie

That is a nice looking top 9 that has performed fine in the past. They can't buy a goal right now, but trading Giroux for Eberle++ isn't going to solve any problems. They are a team that is impossible to get a read on and there is no reason for them not being able to score.

Names are just that - names.

Those names have had 1 good season under their belts for the most part. Otherwise their history has not been that of a high scoring team at all. That's a middle of the pack scoring team.

Giroux isn't the only talented player there though.

He may be the most overrated however?

I'd like to see ol' Ronnie Wilson get another shot. His "hanta yo" speech will give them all the motivation they need

Most of the names there are very young...

I wouldn't expect a huge number of dominating years from them considering that...

That is such bs.

Couturier, Read, Schenn cannot be counted on of a lot of offence.

Hartnell, Simmonds, Downie are not going to get more than 50 points in any season. Maybe one of them gets lucky and gets 52 points, but they're all closer to 40 point players.

Lecavalier is not who he once was. He may get to 55-60, but he has injury issues too and he may not keep up that level of play.

Giroux is their only true 60+ point player but he is treated like a lock for 80+ points player, which he is not.

Beyond what this looks like "on paper" there is something to be said of chemistry. Of those players listed, not one can generate offence with Giroux. Simmonds/Downie can play the grinder role on the line, but there is no playmaker/trigger man to help Giroux.

On defence, no doubt they need help. But their goaltending is not an issue at all.

Teams don't have 9 60pt+ players. I didn't say they were an amazing top 9 I said is was a "nice looking" top 9.

Voracek is 24, Schenn 22, Couturier 20, Giroux 25, Simmonds 25 that's 5 players 25 or younger that shouldn't be expected to have a long track record of offensive success. The best could very well be yet to come for some. I view Hartnell and Simmonds as 50 pt players not 40, but I wasn't trying to say Philly is one of the best offensive teams in the league. I think they will be fine up front and defence is a bigger issue was the point I was making.
