NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
A one year deal has no benefit to either of them unless they are getting paid in that one year.. which we can't do.

i'd give them 1 year deals and then extend them long term next year when the cap goes up.Lee wroteCOLONA one year deal has no benefit to either of them unless they are getting paid in that one year.. which we can't do.
in a perfect world we'd trade Liles for anything without cap coming back.

same thing i am thinking steve
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Neither of those things will happen, Steve.. atleast IMO
Franson will probably be traded... We will get something nice for him. Which isn't bad considering he was traded for Brett Lebderp.

This. There is no chance kadri will settle for a one year deal unless the cap is high. They should try for a two year bridge and promise bank if he continues his progress. One year deal for him is dream world imo.Lee wroteCOLONNeither of those things will happen, Steve.. atleast IMO

Franson imo though, he could benifit from a 1 year contract. Lets face it he had one good half season where he clearly benefitted from a coach/system. If he were to sign a on year, say 2.5 and produce like last season, he'd have a payday next offseason. That being said i doubt he signs a 1 as well.

i wasn't suggesting a lower cap hit for kadri would happen.....he's too stubborn for that...that all said his next contract could be much higher if he did sign a 'bridge' contract and perform like he did this year.shooker wroteCOLONThis. If you weren't suggesting a lower cap hit, how would they fit him under the cap lol. A 1 year, high cap contract has to be viewed as the worst case scenario.Big Fun wroteCOLON i wasn't suggesting a lower cap hit for kadri would happen.....he's too stubborn for that...that all said his next contract could be much higher if he did sign a 'bridge' contract and perform like he did this year.
That's what the leafs have to try to convince Kadri of lol, that it is good for him and not just the Maple Leafs.

Nailed it, unfortunately.
Shoalzie wroteCOLONI feel like Nokelainen will be next. He has "I'm going back to Europe because my return back to the NHL was a bust" written all over him.

Sens offer Cowen:
8 years @ 28mil
that would be an awesome deal for the sens if he signs.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
smart pick up by boston. he isn't elite as a starter, but as your second goalie, great player to have.
