Devils will be charged $250,000 vs. cap for each season through 2024-25 as the cap recapture penalty.

Is there anyway the BBKL can compensate KyleG with like a 2014 1st or something? I think we can all agree that this is just a brutal loss, and impossible to predict.

Nothing against Kyle but shep didn't get anything for Radulov and nobody else got anything in other similar situations. As much as there was predicting this, there were numerous rumours leading up to his eventual signing. In fact, I truly believed it was a done deal when he didn't get traded on draft day. I sympathize with Kyle as that is a big loss for him but I think it is a dangerous precedent to set as I don't think this will be an uncommon occurrence.

Just my opinion but wont fight anything if others feel he warrants some kind of compensation.

side argument. He is 21 and could easily return and have a lengthy nhl career after his time in KHL. If Kyle holds onto him he could still turn out to be a great nhler and also have received a compensation piece which could also be a great nhler lol. I just don't see it but again my opinion.
