I think I found my top line center in my previous trade lol.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Yeah, but to play in a wanna-be league ... I guess it depends on his pride. Then again, he is Russian ..Mike wroteCOLONMan if I'm goalie bob I take that... 3 years. Come back with 30 mil in my pocket at age 27. UFA I think?

I don't think its a pride thing at all.
Twice the money to play in his home town. To me that just makes sense.
If someone offered me a job in Nova scotia making the same money (let alone twice as much) I'd be gone tomorrow.

If they draft MacKinnon, no way does Stastny come back. I know Duchene can play on the wing but obviously O'Reilly isn't going plan 3rd line making the scratch he's getting. Just as far as needs are concerned, they seemed like a natural spot for Jones.

i'm actually hoping we nab Stastny some how.
I know it's been beaten to death on the rumour mill, but if we trade dion i can see a deal around Statsny + for him.

TSN said the leafs are believed to offer Bernier a 5 year deal worth 3.5mil per year.

5 years a bit much, why not 2 years, get a nice bridge contract then go 5+Fair Deals S wroteCOLONTSN said the leafs are believed to offer Bernier a 5 year deal worth 3.5mil per year.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
i think there is benefits to both...if he turns out to be a true #1 top 10 goalie (like everyone believes) 3.5 is a steal for 5 years...however, if he's inconsistant than it could be a bad deal.Monk wroteCOLON5 years a bit much, why not 2 years, get a nice bridge contract then go 5+Fair Deals S wroteCOLONTSN said the leafs are believed to offer Bernier a 5 year deal worth 3.5mil per year.

Per Patty Roy
Seth Jones could be the next Cam Barker, Nathan Mackinnon is ready today. Teams dont draft players they need, they draft the best player available. Luckily for Pittsburgh they took Malkin and not Barker, even though they needed the defenseman.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I agree with this logic entirely. Drafting a D-man #1 overall or even #2 is almost always a long long road and not always fruitful.Fair Deals S wroteCOLONPer Patty Roy
