Idea!
Idea!
Hey guys, okay so in the CC we have been discussing different things and a great idea by Steve was put forward...
Take any donations that could be made by any member(s) of our league. We will use this money to pay for CBS account for the year to track our stats, any left over monies will be donated to a hockey chairty to be chosen by the members, perferebly one that helps kids play hockey when they otherwise couldn't afford to do so...
it effects the whole league so I thought the whole league should voice their opinions!

+1 here.
Suggested donation amounts? $5? $10? remember its to support the league and a good cause.

Re: Idea!
This sounds better because it gives u that choice now with a wife that breaks her cell phone and buys new ones whenever lol and moving into a house i may not have money to put towards the league but down the line possibly but for sure a better idea. Obviously I have extra cash but need to put it towards other things but good idea.

Re: Idea!
Okay guys ive done some research tonight and if anyone has any other suggestions by all means make them! After Steve mentioned it I looked it up and did some reading and it seems like if we do this the charity we choose if fairly important. Steve mentioned Right To Play and although its a great charity and I really like what I read its not just hockey its sports in general..
after I kept looking I found this one house9hockey its a charity that was started by some ex nhlers that run charity games and charity events to raise money to give directly to kids to help them afford hockey registration and equipment and such. It looks really good

Re: Idea!
one of the biggest regrets of my life is that my indian immigrant parents never supported my athletic career and told me to focus on school. laugh it up bitches but i couldve made the under 20 Canada Cricket Team (yes cricket you cunts. and i know the canadian cricket team sucks but fuck you all. i couldve made it.) but alas, I was never supported. so I am IN to help make it possible for other kids .
Re: Idea!
Great choice Matt.. house9 is a great charity and work with a lot of kids. Also a full non-profit. As most of you know, I've done a lot of work with charities over the years and rest assured, this is a great choice for all your dollars (pretty much) getting to where it should.Mashley93 wroteCOLONOkay guys ive done some research tonight and if anyone has any other suggestions by all means make them! Re: Idea!
$10 bucks a person isn't too much to ask,,,to help run the league and then rest would pay for a child's hockey for the year.
But if you can't afford it, dont feel guilty about anything, i'd rather everyone in this league had food on their table before they donated money to a charity.

Re: Idea!
To be honest, if i make donations for charity i rather help a different kind of full non-profit organizations (health related), and possibly in my country.
Basically, i share Kyle's position on this:

I thought we should take donations to cover the cost of CBS, then if there is leftover, use it to cover CBS for next season or use the leftover for the individual awards that is voted on by the entire league.
Re: Idea!
Like Steve said.. do not full bad for not donating, we all have our reasons. If you can, you can.. if not, no big deal either.

This - if you live outside of Canada and chose not to donate, don't worry about it.Raptactics wroteCOLONLike Steve said.. do not full bad for not donating, we all have our reasons. If you can, you can.. if not, no big deal either.
We'll create a paypal account and take donations - we will not keep track of who donated and how much.

im not okay with giving people money for winning an award when certain people contributed and others didn't.
