Normally I say everyone is entitled to their opinion, but you are wrong here. It isn't close this year. I am not saying that Suter is a better player, but current play goes hands down to Suter. Weber is not having a "weber" like year.Phion Keneuf wroteCOLONWeber has been great this year as well, better IMO.Fair Deals Steve wroteCOLONRemember when we use to hear "Weber makes Suter"

{GTW} Week 9

Re: {GTW} Week 9
Gotta say, we don't see much D to fwd positional change at the NHL level too much, but Burns is very interesting to watch as a forward. IIRC he's been experimented in such way in the past for a little bit, but It almost looks weird to my eyes because he is so big and still sorta skates like a d-man, but he just really looks like Eric Lindros in a SJS uniform because of his jersey #
Re: {GTW} Week 9
Both have been good - not a shocker..
Weber is definitely still himself - and still a superior Dman most nights to Suter. Dunno how he's not having a Weber-like year- a defensive rock, and the biggest scoring threat on his team.

Re: {GTW} Week 9
Burns was drafted as a forward and was a good scorer at the junior level, hell even made WJC as a forward. He didn't make the switch to D until pro.gooker wroteCOLONGotta say, we don't see much D to fwd positional change at the NHL level too much, but Burns is very interesting to watch as a forward. Re: {GTW} Week 9
His hands have always looked like an offensive wingers - stick out in front, comfortable with the puck on the boards, and a focus on puck to middle of the offensive Zone.
I do agree that his skating does currently resemble a Dman more than an aggressive power forward.
SJS needs scoring help, and skill up front - he brings both.

Re: {GTW} Week 9
Yea, I'm strictly referring to his recent switch without making his entire career history a topic of consideration. On top of it, any player who would at one point play prominently at D and switch (or switch back to for Burns) to a forward position at any time of his career. But good point. It's been so long that I straight up forgot about that fact about Burns.shooker wroteCOLONBurns was drafted as a forward and was a good scorer at the junior level, hell even made WJC as a forward. Howard & Price just leaving the goalie categories ripe for the taking...

if by that you're referring only to their last 10 games, then i'm ok with this.shooker wroteCOLONNormally I say everyone is entitled to their opinion, but you are wrong here. I am referring to the last 15 or so for Suter. I do not think either were playing near potential in the first half of the year.kyuss wroteCOLONif by that you're referring only to their last 10 games, then i'm ok with this.shooker wroteCOLONNormally I say everyone is entitled to their opinion, but you are wrong here. Re: {GTW} Week 9
Unless you're a d-man that sacrifices defence for offence much of your scoring depends on PP, your forwards, and coverage (or lack there-of).
Scoring is also a silly measure for a dman's effectiveness.
Neither Shea nor Ryan regularly risk a bad defensive play, in order to make the chance to score. They are both extremely sound defensively - from my viewing Shea is more likely to make a big defensive play (or hit or goal) that spins some or at least stops momentum. Suter has TONS of assists (all i think?) and many are from his own nice plays, however a good portion of them are also from playing on a team that CAN score goals, Parise, Heaters, Koviu are all superior to anyone on Shea's team - and more importantly, they do so together on the PP. Erat is okay, and IMO Wilson is slick, but not on the effectiveness level of Zach or Mikko. Suter will consistently make good play, after good play, after correct play - and he'll be rewarded with high point totals - if 3 players in a row each make a good play, chances are you're about to having a scoring chance.
Regardless, they miss each other because they are both fucking elite as all hell, and both of their numbers will fluctuate over their careers, likely MORE than their actual play does.

Shep, other than your goaltending, I am very impressed with your performance thus far. Keep it up.

Goaltending battle between PHI and TOR.
GAA = 1 each
SV% = .971 TOR .966 PHI
W = 2 TOR 1 PHI
SO = 1 TOR

+/-, BS, STPTS and goalies will determine the week. It's going to be roughly this score, one way or another.
