I thought this was a stupid move for Calgary as they have a shitty team and empty farm system but if it is only a 1st + 3rd, why not. Chance of getting an O'Reilly are slim. I thought it would cost more than that. People will say they should be rebuilding and I totally agree, but this is a young guy to build around. Smart move for Feaster.

The problem is the money. ROR will recieve a 6.5M QO in the second year, and under the new rules the next year of the deal must be equal to that, and the variance from year to year is minimal, so the Flames will essentially be paying ROR upwards of 6M a year. That's an awful lot for an unproven #1 center.
