Re: Toronto Block
Scriven + <-> Bernier deal only seems logical... no?
Something like a 2nd rounder and interesting young (cheap) forward seems to be the value gap. Not a blue-chipper, but a nice piece.

If I had interest in moving Bernier I guess, but I don't.Nick wroteCOLONScriven + <-> Bernier deal only seems logical... no?

Re: Toronto Block
i like Mike's logic
keep bernier and shop quick (possibly)
as i've said before, if miller is traded i'll most likely move him and go with a hackett/enroth duo

I want to wait it out and make a decision on which I keep when I have more information. There is no incentive at all to move either right now.Nick wroteCOLONso you want two goalie systems?

Re: Toronto Block
emery for bernier
Re: Toronto Block
3 1/2 months until the season starts. Who knows what role Bernier will have. Might as well wait until it's clear.

Bernier stole the job from Reimer in the 2011 WC, I expect him to do the same here.Shep wroteCOLON3 1/2 months until the season starts. Who knows what role Bernier will have. Might as well wait until it's clear.

Re: Toronto Block
One thing i like about Nonis, he can spot talent (at the NHL leve anyways - the draft is yet to be seen)shooker wroteCOLONBernier stole the job from Reimer in the 2011 WC, I expect him to do the same here.Shep wroteCOLON3 1/2 months until the season starts. Reimer just doesn't have great rebound control, something Bernier has. Our dman wont be as active in their own end with Bernier eating up most of the shots.

Re: Toronto Block
with a defense as atrocious as ours at clearing the front of the net and boxing guys out, a goalie with rebound control is vital. nonis definitely realizes this.
grabbing a goalie like bernier is much easier/cheaper than remodeling an entire defense.

i actually expect Reimer to be traded
Start the Reimer to NJ rumours.

Re: Toronto Block
I doubt Nonis considers moving Reimer until he sees what he has in Bernier. Why would NJD want Reimer? They already have Hedberg.Fair Deals S wroteCOLON i actually expect Reimer to be traded
