Florida agrees, thanks Scott

That's the sound of Florida Chris hitting a home run with Ken Griffey Jr in Major League Baseball Featuring Ken Griffey, Jr using code left, left, right, right, right, left, left.

Re: Trade: DET/FLA
I'll be completely honest, I'm a bit nervous about my GP situation. This would be my first deal of the season coming from a position of desperation rather than just trying to improve or shake things up. Naturally, I lose this...I won't argue with anyone that thinks that way...but I'm trying not to lose value on my precious 1st round pick. I've waited too long and have dealt with close to three years of brutal beatings for this pick to finally be relevant and useful to my team so I'm going to dumpster dive and grab a couple of (near) expiring assets if it keeps me from missing the GP minimum.

Every week I get together what's close to a full lineup, then like 2-3 guys get hurt in the first day or two, + another guy or two gets scratched, and then i make the necessary adjustments the following week, another guy or two gets hurt, my inactive players come back and get gp on the bench during this. Repeat. Repeat. Blah.

I think I've been burned more by healthy scratches and guys getting waived (and demoted) moreso than actual injuries...of course, you'd have to actually play to get hurt (unless you're Komisarek). I referenced before, I think I'll benefit from buyouts for guys like Komisarek and maybe Ballard where guys end up with teams where they can actually play on a regular basis.

Seems okay to me too, not bad at all.Fair Deals Steve wroteCOLONi just dont see how this is a bad deal?

And for your GP seeking gentlemen: Andrew Desjardins is as usual available for a mere 2nd round pick. He hits and fights and plays the wing. Waiver exempt this year and next. Plays every day.

Re: Trade: DET/FLA
It's kind of a mixed review on him...he slid in the waiver draft and I downgraded a 2nd rounder to a 3rd rounder to grab a pick to get him. He was a good scorer at a smaller school and has size...he's been pretty decent for Charlotte and has been called up a few times by the Canes during the season.
The Hurricanes are probably one of the most frustrating teams in terms of what they do with prospects...see Boychuk, Dalpe, et al. They give a lot of different guys chances to play when they need to call up a guy from Charlotte. It's not like they have a goto callup when there's a need for a forward or a defenseman.

Re: Trade: DET/FLA
As far as I can see, Welsh is a career AHL'er, who will get the occasional call up. He really wasn't part of the deal. I see the deal as basically Huskins for Walsh, and 2nd for Handzus + 4th. I actually thought it was bang on value, not sure where anybody see Scott getting raped here.

Re: Trade: DET/FLA
The value in losing spots in the draft due to missing on GP is far greater than the value difference in this trade...if there is any. I'm also horrible at center so if Handzus happens to play next year or Huskins finds another gig next year...bonus.
