I like this one for the peg. I think duchene will bounce back in a big way but I just think patty kane is better. Hence my nod in luke's favour.

Duchene is capable of the same points + fow, but the big difference is that Duchene is set to earn 3.8M in the next two years vs 6+ for Patrick Kane. That cannot be understated, and in truth was my primary motivation for making this deal.

I was also trying, not very hard as I don't get to a comp often, but none the less trying for duchene for the same reason you just stated. I understand the reasoning, I'd just take Kane over him until he makes the jump to a near PPG player.

That is a perfectly valid argument, and you are right, to date Kane has been the better statistical player (with respect to points). However, if not for that fact, and Duchene's most recent season, I don't think Duchene is available for Patrick, if at all... So from that standpoint there is a risk-reward element to this deal, I don't believe I am taking on all the risk, if I did I wouldn't complete the deal.

More of a sound argument here. The one about cap makes sense for a straight duch/kane swap but seemed silly when in the same trade jaybo was going your way.

I think Kane + Bieksa for Duchene + Jaybo is close.

Pelly makes this a win for Kareem. He is going to be sick h2h.

I once offered a very similar deal to luke, we were close to a deal, he countered and wanted an add from me, in this deal kareem gets the add. I'm agreeing with what shiv said about, I like it for kareem because he got the add.

That all said, I think its pretty fair, but if I had to pick a side I'd take what kareem got!

So Kareem let me get this straight: you make this deal to get a comparable player with a much nicer cap hit; but then assume Jay-Bo's albatross contract? Don;t get me wrong I love Jay-Bo and all he does for a hockey club but in terms of his BBKL contributions he is insanely overpaid for his output.

Kane > Duchene
Bieksa > Bouwmeester

(Both these comparisons are rather close nonetheless, but still edge to Luke's side)

DSP, makes up difference in rather close win for Luke

fair deal

duchene is capable of the points, but I'm not sure he's matured enough as a more complete centre at this point, I see him as being one of those guys that starts to figure it out in his mid 20's. Secondly there is the question of whether sacco knows how to get him to be that player, because he was being somewhat mis-cast last year

on the topic of dsp he is really young(just turned 20) and nowhere near his full value and if there is a season somewhere around 50 games it will be much harder for him to build on last year's success, I think he's at minimum a year away from making significant contributions

You're a smart guy, I think you can reasonably assume what I will do next with Jaybo.
