Re: PIT/BUF
You guys are nuts. Tomas Vokoun has a legitimate shot to start 30+ games for PIT. If MAF goes down, BUF is fucked. If BUF wants to trade MAF, he can't without Vokoun because GMs want the whole system. Not to mention that there is an actual chance Vokoun becomes the starter in PIT if MAF stumbles.

I agree with everything shiv except the last part as I believe the flower is still gonna have a long lease despite his playoff struggled.

since when Gragnani is a good player?Fair Deals Steve wroteCOLONthis deal is a tad retarded
2 good players for a backup?

not saying Phion didn't paid more than enough for an aging backup (he's signed for 2 more yrs though).

Re: PIT/BUF
what happened to the good old days of a backup being worth a 2nd round pick.
And even if Vokoun plays 30 games, is he worth Helm + ? ..... Not even close IMO

Re: PIT/BUF
Yeah helm alone was very very good value on Vokoun but goalies come at a premium in this league

Re: PIT/BUF
honestly IMO it was Helm straight up for VOkoun ... i could care less about Gragnani and a UFA
maybe not the best value, but i needed a backup .. i got offered a lesser goalie for Helm straight up, i thought Vokoun was the better option hence i did it
i also expect to have much more deals coming soon

Re: PIT/BUF
I told him people charge a lot for back-ups, and having a tandem IMO is the most valuable thing in this league. If your starter goes down for an extended period of time, you're royally fucked.
Helm is an okay asset, but at the end of the day he's a 30pt centre with decent periphs. Vokoun is also signed for 2 years so it's not just a 1 and done payment.
Nothing wrong with this deal. Overpayment (I said Helm + UFA Johnson was pretty even), and Gragnani is the extra payment required to lock up your tandem.
Fleury sucks and is volatile.

I think helm is extremely over rated. That being said, i think this trade is awefully lopsided in shivs favour...

Re: PIT/BUF
Doesn't seem he wants the whole system. I offered Zatkoff (PIT 4th depth) and he was uninterested. On top of that I acquired Thiessen (PIT 3rd depth).SuperMario wroteCOLONYou guys are nuts. Pretty sure you landed Thiessen from him lol,
thats like me trading Jake Allen away in a deal.

Im a fan of each guy running his team as he see's fit; however, i would never trade a goalie prospect in my system.
But thats me

Re: PIT/BUF
Two separate concepts throw you off? Lol. Is it inconceivable that I still think value wise shiv dominates while thinking the main piece he received is over rated? You shouldn't troll when you are high..gooker wroteCOLONthat makes no senseshooker wroteCOLONI think helm is extremely over rated.
