Nick wroteCOLONI like BBKL Flip. People get stuck at low hit/pim #, 2 categories i'd happily drop in place for more reliable scoring.
and some people dont pay enough attention to those hit/pim cats.

It's all about a good balance..

You should really stick with Armstrong and Halpern then. Things that put the conversation into context don't matter obviously. i.e. future performance vs past performance, prime vs past prime, trade value vs stat value (which by the way, Brodziak is still the best player in)

I looked at past as I said by looking at the BBKL stats for the past 3 years. Where did I deny Brodziak was the best of the 3? Why would I trade 2 players for somebody that is worse?

Yea - I probably got a little too annoyed there lol.

I get it - Brodziak has had a pretty slow start. Has not produced offensively yet as much as he did last year. But he's 28, he's the clear cut #2 C in MIN and it's not even close in that regard. He get 2 minutes of SHTOI per game, on pace for about 700 FOW in an 82 game season. Even if he produces at a 30 point pace which he easily can as his minutes are going to stay the same - he is a SICK bbkler.

And the number of bbkl teams rolling around with Cs who put up FOW at a pace of 500 in an 82 game season (or even only 3 Cs because they can't find 4/5 - and one of the 3 isn't even a true C) is retarded. It is truly difficult to find 700+ FOW Cs. Nick has 4 of them, his 5th is Stamkos. Me, Mike, Kyle, Billy, Steve have a bunch.

With so few teams having such a huge concentration of the 700+ FOW Cs, why a trade block for Brodziak isn't taken seriously by the remaining GMs is crazy. Paul coming in with Brodziak + Giordano for Stajan + Filp lol as if Gio/Brodziak are scrubs that need to be upgraded to Filp (not singling you out Paul, just an example lol). Just insane to me.

Because about 20 teams, me included, have punted FOW due to the fact that those FOW studs are spread around 5-6 teams. There's no point in trying to compete with them.

Also, considering Brodziak has broken 700 FOW once and is on pace for less than that this season, I'm in no rush to trade studs for a 2-trick pony.

Punting FOW or any category is silly. starting any week down 0-1-0 is suicide as so many playoff matchups end 6-7-3, 8-7-1, 8-6-2 etc. Also brodziak is on pace for about 660 this season. That's Datsyuk/Mikko FOW territory - 2 of the FOW studss you're talking about.

Shep and I are on the same page with regards to this...It's the one stat cat I have essentially just given up on. At least to the top end teams.

Basically no point when there are teams like TB and TOR, if you are thinking in the big picture and a what-if situation. I see nothing wrong with conceding that stat. It would be cool if we could start 5 more Wingers instead of centers, tbh. If you want to go after C's and get that category, power to you but if you want to concede that and roll with all Wingers, high five!

Disagree strongly. I repeat: you cannot start any week automatically down 0-1-0. There is no hope in the playoffs if you do that. Teams should be making trades to be competitive in that cat.
