D is top to bottom awesome: Doughty, Weber probably PieT, Myers & Keith with spots to fight for from Phaneuf, Letang, Subban and any of the emergy studs in the next 2 seasons.

and our big question mark Wing positions filled by the likes of Nash, Neal, Eberle, Hall, some centres pushed to the wing and obviously a stud or two will emerge.

I dont think the wing position is a question mark at all lol. Staal will likely be once again slotted in as a winger and I am betting giroux and stamkos slide to the wing as well. Throw out Corey Perry, Eberle, Neal and all of the sudden our lines are amazing.

I also think Toews is 100% a lock for a C position as well. I would also most definitely throw Seabrook, Girardi, Hamhuis, Letang and Subban all ahead of Myers. IMO Myers isn't even in the discussion unless he gets his career back on track.

All I know is, what a fun job to be able to pick from those names. I always love trying to guess who will be on the team.

Forsberg's congenital foot problems: He was continually getting new skates to attempt to subside the pain for this.

"It's hard to believe that a sport which relied so heavily on exceptional skating ability could produce such a talented athlete with a birth defect in his feet. "I don't know the exact term, but I think it's just supination, you lean outside on your foot," he said. "It's very uncommon; the doctor was telling me some basketball players have this. Plus, I have a very hard arch and my foot is kind of leaning toward the other side, and that tears through the ligaments all the time.

"Through the years, it has been getting worse and worse, and the foot is getting kind of crooked, that is kind of what is going on. Actually, both [feet] are doing the same thing. So if I am going to keep on playing, I am going to have to get [the surgeries] done," he continued."

..." it came to light that during the time he played with the Avalanche, he had a battery pack attached to him which sent bolts of electricity into his muscles in an attempt to keep his foot aligned."


The plan was to have two separate surgeries, first on the right foot and then on the left. However, his doctor decided the second was unnecessary, so on May 15, 2006, Foppa went under the knife.

Good post, I didn't know Foppa used a battery pack to send charges to his foot in the playoffs, that is incredible.

The guy just kept at it, despite that ever increasing supination of the foot (turning it inside and up ...the same movement is easier done at your hand/wrist; it's holding your palms facing upwards asking for soup essentially). In that analogy, the foot's "palm"/sole is turning inside to the middle of the body and up like a hand would.

How painful would skating/walking be on that? It's fucking incredible he could play hockey at any level let alone at the ridiculous levels he did. He was an INCREDIBLE player.
