Not a big fan of this for matt but this is the first trade i have seen him lose.

I like Matts attempts to improve. He has added Hall, RNH, Wheeler, Schenn, Sbisa and Edler. I dont like that he traded a pick as we have all seen that backfire but despite this loss he is leaps ahead of where he was. so meh, one bad trade for the half dozen great ones.

He will also get quite a few offers on gudas all year long where i am sure he can recoup any loss if he feels so inclined.

Loving that I have some doubters in this thread! Can this trade backfire? Sure, but I had deemed McCabe and Collberg expendable quite a while ago and if you notice every trade block I put up with prospects those two are included since I wanted to move them. I have other prospects that I expect to be better and I feel it's not a big loss and if I'm wrong then so be it. Andreas Johnson the Leafs 5th round pick is on Collberg's SHL team and has 22 points and Collberg has 4 in his second season with the club. I think he has regressed, but a good showing at the WJs will help his stock.

Very happy being able to bring back Gudas who I view as a top 20D in this format when contract is taken into account and not lose any core pieces on my team. I hope Olsen continues to tear it up for Chuck and he makes some good picks and it turns into a win-win.

he is, but its a tad easier to do when you have as many assets as he had to begin with.

he did have to make all the deals though so credit does go to matt!
