the wire was too inconsistent for me. season 3 might be the best season of tv i've ever seen, but 2 and 5 were dull.

right now it's gotta be:

1a. Sopranos
1b. Breaking Bad
2. The Wire
3. The Shield

my 1 and 2 will become clearer once the final season of BB airs i hope. im slightly worried about season 5 of BB. to me, the story's been told. it'll be interesting to see where they go with it.

mike's gotta come back at some point i guess. does walt step in as the kingpin? it appears as tho he's sold his soul completely not so why not? im thinking he approaches jesse to start cooking again from the angle that there's no one else left and they'd control everything. then mike comes back and throws a wrench into that?

to me it has to end with hank putting walt away.

That's a good list. The only one I don't really agree with being there is The Shield. I've seen pretty much every season and it really fell off after the first 4 or so. In place of The Shield I would have to add in Boardwalk Empire. I would then reorganize the list to look something as follows:

1. The Wire - With regards to season two of The Wire, I wasn't really a fan of it the first time I watched it. However, I've seen that season twice more and it really grew on me. One of my favorite.
2a. Boardwalk Empire
2b. Breaking Bad (I've only seen up to the end of season 3. I could watch 4, but I want to wait for it to come out on Blue Ray so that I can watch it in Hi Def on the 60 inch *drool*.
3a. Spartacus series
3b. Strike Back

Sopranos and Sons of Anarchy get HM. Sopranos could even be on the above list. I just didn't like the last few seasons and I couldn't stand Tony's breathing once he turned into the super fat fuck. First few seasons rank up there with any show I've ever watched though.

The cooking of Crystal Meth by an over qualified high school chemistry teacher. He does it because he finds out he has very bad lung cancer. Needs to put away stacks of cash for his family in case he dies.

Warning though, once you watch the first episode, 4 weeks will have passed and then you will realize that you have watched every season and did not see the sun.

As much as I loved The Wire whilst watching it I have zero interest in ever watching it again.

anyone watch the first episode of "Luck" or whatever it's called? The new Dustan Hoffman HBO series about horse racing? Was OK...seems like it has a bit of potential.

Nick, if you are really interested in checking out the series, I would not be surprised if you could catch the first episode sometime this weekend. With a new series it's not uncommon for them (HBO) to play the premier again, prior to them airing the 2nd episode. If you have TMN/HBO on demand you will be able to find the first episode on there also.

It's worth checking out, as in my opinion, it has some good potential. Like Mike had mentioned, seems like it could be pretty heavy.
