Love this trade for Mik, but it also has the potential to be huge for Scott.
Re: Trade: NJD/NSH - Full Retard
I will never trade with Mik again.. that is a promise
Re: Trade: NJD/NSH - Full Retard
The way I see it is if and when Vokoun moves on, he'll sign somewhere else and likely be a starter.. so I'll trade him for what I gave up here or more.. and I'll still have the Caps system instead of downgrading big time in net to gain elsewhere. I had offers to downgrade my goalies pretty significantly to gain a few assets I already have a lot of. This just seemed like the smart thing to do since Ennis is replaceable. Ennis is small, has sustained a pretty serious ankle injury. I'd also wager a few Sabres prospects/young players have jumped him on the depth chart, and Ennis is points only anyway.. it's a lot now but down the road I'll be laughing.. at least I hope!

so, since all of a sudden u agree with what i was saying all along, why would you be so angry and swear you would never trade again with me?Scott wroteCOLONThe way I see it is if and when Vokoun moves on, he'll sign somewhere else and likely be a starter.. so I'll trade him for what I gave up here or more.. and I'll still have the Caps system instead of downgrading big time in net to gain elsewhere. not that we need to keep trading, but still, sounds weird.
Re: Trade: NJD/NSH - Full Retard
And yet when I reference vokuns value moving forward you insulted me in some manner?
I like this trade for Mik, but that's because I don't beleaf (see what I did there) holtby has much future in the NHL, especially if they make it far this year, Tomas will earn himself a new contract ImO!!!

Re: Trade: NJD/NSH - Full Retard
I covered my ass, that's all. I still did ok, MAF, Johnson, Thiessen + maybe a 2nd 2013 for Vokoun, Holtby, Neuvirth, Saad, 3rd 2013.. let's hope Saad turns in to a beast! If Vokoun re-signs, great.. if he signs elsewhere (other then the KHL).. that's great too.
Re: Trade: NJD/NSH - Full Retard
Hmmm... Somehow I forgot the + was ennis, this whole cycle looks good Scott.
Re: Trade: NJD/NSH - Full Retard
At first, it was hard to digest this trade, but I understood it from Scott's point of view. However, the more I look at it, the more I see the similarities in how Scott approaches his rebuild to mine. If imitation is the most sincerest form of flattery, I'm flattered.

Immediately its a loss for Scott but in a year or two Scott will most likely end up winning out on the deal. Short term pain for long term gain. Now was the time to buy Holtby cause his value is just going to keep going up; hes already NHL ready.
