mr. bruin wroteCOLONTotally agree. That trade is turning out to be one of the more equal trades in a long time. Benefited both teams, imo. Kessel is turning out to be a stud and Seguin is molding into a great 2 way center. Situation looked lopsided by a few at time of trade but 2 years later looks pretty sweet for both teams.
Agreed, though if Hamilton is as good as alot of people think he is it may end up as a lopsided trade, lol.
Yea, but then Colborne will balance that out. ;)

Too bad Kaberle isn't on the Bruins anymore, we could start a "thank you Kaberle" chant otherwise.

Yea that is stupid. I am so happy Kaberle is gone. He is but a mere shadow of his former self, imo.

Been on the decline for a while, I honestly think it all started with that hit to the head by Jansen.

Hey Kareem.. Guess it doesn't look like Gus will be starting for the foreseeable future
Made some amazing saves in the first, but absolutely no skill playing the puck. I still see so much raw talent, you can see it in the saves he makes to keep the team in it sometimes. But hes fucking madingly inconsistent, time for scrivens to run with this chance. I honestly want Reimer back though, I'm not sure what that setback was but haven't heard much about him even skating.. Wonder whats going on.

No goalie will win you games when you score 0 goals in 6 periods, everyone looked snake bitten Kulemin especially. Not making the same plays they were even 2-3 games ago. Lets see what they do in this 3rd, and other than the booing this is the quietest I remember the ACC.

Jonas Gustavsson is awful, there is no other way to put it, he is quite literally the worst NHL goaltender in the game, and with his age and experience there is little reason to believe that will ever change. It means nothing if Jonas Gustavsson makes the odd amazing save when he consistently lets in poor goals. It only takes one bad goal every 10 shots to make up a below average start, but if this is the real Ben Scrivens, the Leafs are in ALOT of trouble...

There was an interesting contrast between the goalies tonight, as Gustavsson said he was unlucky while Scrivens said he didn't play well.

I am convinced Jonas Gustavsson has compromising photos of you, there is no other explanation for you to defend him to the extent that you have. You have literally been wrong about him every step of the way, at what point is enough enough? At least with Scrivens there is potential for more, and one brilliant start to suggest he can handle the role temporarily. Gustavsson is who we thought he was, and that is someone who is not even good enough to backup, let alone start.

FTR, Ben Scrivens leash is not long either, if his next start is a poor one, the Leafs have no choice but to look for a goaltender elsewhere.

I hope you are not referring to Jonas Gustavsson because there is nothing small about his sample size...

I'd be really interested in making a play for Henrik Karlsson. Henrik is incredibly talented, has size, and respectable numbers behind a mediocre team. With Kipper ahead of him, and Irving/Ortio not far behind, Karlsson could be expendable for help down the middle (Matthew Lombardi), or some increased depth and size on the blueline (Cody Franson). If I were Brian Burke, that is the phone call I would be making, Karlsson can step in now, and has the potential to perhaps even supplant James Reimer moving forward.

Could have had him for free this summer.
