Tim Connolly says injury is no longer day to day. Could be week to week. Injury is worse than they initially feared.

You can add Malkin to that list by this time..

And Gaborik is healthy, he'd be on that list. Same with Semin.

Havlat has been good, 70+ in 3 straight years. That's good for him.

Malkin should be there too, i just wish he wasn't! Gabby & Semin expected, and both have already stayed down on the ice after a whistle in pain....but even injury prone guys have healthy season(s), just means the long injury is coming!

Filatov sent down. Who knew that if you consistently put kids in a position to fail, that they will fail. Assists on Michaleks goal in the first game, demoted the next game, benched the next and then sent down the one after that.

Yep, not Filatov's fault at all.

He was demoted after getting an assist in his first game. I can see your logic. They put him in a position to fail after success in his first game, and continued to do so until they sent him down. Not to mention that he is one of 4 players with a + rating ( one of which played one game), while the rest of the team ranges from -1 to -5. +- is a horrible stat in general to go by, but when you are a + player on a team 17 - players 3 games into a season, kinda shows how clueless the coaching staff is to demote this guy over guys who can't keep the put out of their own net or put it in the other teams.

Filatov sucks.

And Lee, you clearly haven't watched Filatov at all. He's lazy, takes poor routes to take away passing lanes on the back-check, and doesn't give his defense an outlet pass when the Sens are breaking out.

He's not a defensive player and never will be great or even good at it. He's decent at best, and yes, I have watched both Sens game that he was in specifically for him and Butler to get a better idea of their play thus far and all I can say is that if you put them in this position, they will fail. He's magic when he has the puck and sub par without it. Kinda like some of our own players.

Errr, when you continuously forget to cut off passing lanes or making yourself open for an outlet pass rather than rushing up the ice, you're going to fail more often than not. This is what Filatov does. Miss assignment after assignments. He's not listening to the coaching staff and he never will. He's a bust.

This is why he's getting sent down.. he's had boatloads of time to get better defensively.. he's just lazy and not dedicated to improving his all around game. He's the definition of a cancer so far. Fuck him and fuck the Sens

Same can be said about one of our very own for the first 2 years of his career. It took Kessel almost 400 NHL games to learn how to back check or play any sort of defence. It wasn't until they put him with someone who could actually get the puck that he started to not look like a bust. Filatov played maybe 10 shifts with Spezza before being demoted out of the organization.

I mean, it's not entirely unexpected that he was demoted. I had already put him on my bench for next weeks roster and intended to leave him there until he started producing.

On skill level alone, Kessel absolutely destroys Filatov.

Water is wet. Kessel sucked until he started playing with Savard.

Filatov was touted as a top 2 talent in a talent heavy 08 class, but you are right, he isn't on the same planet as Phil Kessel skill wise, alot of people forget (myself included) that he was once considered "America's response to Sidney Crosby", and not just by Americans...

I am the biggest Nikita Filatov apologist out there, but after failing on two basement teams in consecutive seasons it is clear that it isn't the team that is in the wrong...Filatov just doesn't put a consistent effort out on the ice, and unless you are scoring 60+ a season that won't fly on alot of teams...
