Re: Google Sheets (2021 Release)
- To use Fantrax lineup, check box in cell L1 (does not apply to "Preseason" sheet)
- Fantrax lineups will be available after roster lock deadline
- If you choose to fill out your own lineup, leave L1 unchecked and enter names manually
- Lineup entered in sheet must match Fantrax lineup; message will appear lineups don't match

Re: Google Sheets (2021 Release)
I'll begin distributing your team sheets later today. Please let me know you want a different e-mail shared to your sheet.
Post any questions or issues in this thread and I'll get to them as soon as possible.
I'll spend this week updating rosters ahead of the waiver draft. The Fantrax lineups for Wk 1 are out of date. Those will be removed and replaced with the Week 1 lineups after the season starts.

After roster submission, you guys can just check that box each week and it'll track your Fantrax lineup. You just need to make sure that lineup is legal.
I have all the data points we need to track that teams are using legal Fantrax lineups and if they are filling out their sheets, we can make sure those lineups match the lineups used on Fantrax.
As I've said, filling out the sheets is optional. At a bare minimum, we can validate the Fantrax lineup each week.
Re: Google Sheets (2021 Release)
this is great, but if we can import Fantrax lineups only after the deadline we won't be able to use the spreadsheet to check the fantrax lineup's cap (would be too late), which is the main reason we are using googledocs, or am I missing something?Shoalzie wroteCOLON [*]Fantrax lineups will be available after roster lock deadline[/*]

What I may consider doing is import the Fantrax player statuses earlier in the week before the deadline and then update the list again after the deadline has passed (when the lineups are official) and we can verify the lineups. However, I can't do repeated updates throughout the week. If you guys make trades during the week that affect the lineups or you make a change midweek, I can't constantly track that on top of what's already being done.
If you have to make a lot of changes to you lineup week-to-week, you might want to set up your lineups on Google and then make sure you have the same names in your Fantrax lineup. I personally will fill out my sheets in Google and make sure I have the same lineup in Fantrax.
The idea behind doing this is so we have a way to confirm the legality of lineups being used on Fantrax if the team doesn't actually fill out their lineup on the sheet.

it's a manual sync, not real-time/automatic so not going to do what you're looking forkyuss wroteCOLONthis is great, but if we can import Fantrax lineups only after the deadline we won't be able to use the spreadsheet to check the fantrax lineup's cap (would be too late), which is the main reason we are using googledocs, or am I missing something?Shoalzie wroteCOLON [*]Fantrax lineups will be available after roster lock deadline[/*]

Re: Google Sheets (2021 Release)
Exactly Josh, we can't stream that information. That needs to be understood by everyone leading up to each weekly roster deadline.
To make this possible, I'm collecting a Excel report from the Players tab where it lists the current playing status of players on a BBKL roster (Active, Reserve, Inj Res, Minors).
I'm taking that report and feeding it into a weekly table on Google that gets fed into everyone's individual team sheets. It gets compared to the lineup filled out in Google or if you don't fill out a lineup, that check box takes your Fantrax information and populates your lineup on your sheet.
I can find a way to collect that table more frequently but the information won't update in real time if you dress or sit a player. The whole point of this is when we're playing during a given week, we have a way to verify that the lineup that was used in Fantrax follows all our rules.
When we do roster submissions, I'm not concerned with the lineups on Fantrax. I'm concerned with the rosters themselves...make sure you guys have the correct players. We just do an initial lineup submission in the Google and then open the waiver wire for those players that get sent to the minors.

There's probably several young players on new ELC that will qualify for a sliding contract but I just need to enter their birthdate for that status to change. That will affect some of the contract totals.
Just a reminder, all players who qualify for a sliding contract, their contract (by default) doesn't count towards your 50 contracts.
There's probably some position information that needs to be corrected and I'll get that remedied in the next few days.

Excellent work.
