Thanks for the clarification, Mik.

I missed that. Thank you for clarification Mikkyuss wroteCOLONno way this happens. That’s why this is so tough to take. Not only that but Boston wasn’t even active at all the entire season. Suppose to be penalized for that and instead it works out for that team to get the 2nd overall instead.

Re: League Announcements Discussion
In this scenario, Boston can't move up in the draft via the lottery so it would stay either in place or move back because they still own their original pick.
Because St. Louis jumped up from 12 to 1, then everyone in the top 4 move back a spot. The likely situation is that the Rangers get the 2nd pick because Boston can't keep that pick.
I know what complicates things for Lee is that it wasn't his doing that lead to his new team missing GP and he has to deal with the blow back of all this.

I brought this up on the 23rd.Lee wroteCOLONI'm just excited to be punished, yet again, for something I had no part in.
We need to stop picking and choosing to follow NHL rules when it's convenient for certain members of the CC.
Re: League Announcements Discussion
lol that is retarded. I get punished by being moved back. and I get punished again 3 more times. for something I had nothing to do with.
All announced after the lottery takes place.
what a fucking clown show.

Re: League Announcements Discussion
Boston finished 3rd in the standings. I didn't update the standings last night so you shouldn't have been there.
You moved back to 4th because of GP (point adjustment). Essentially you and Kyle switched spots.
You end up picking 5th because a team outside the top 4 ended up #1.
None of this was done to undermine you. I told you what you might deal with by taking this team over.
You took over a team that happened to be the only team to miss on GP. Kyle bailed so the next GM has to deal with the repercussions. Sorry.

My mistake was not having you 4th last night. Nobody is at fault besides me. Be mad at me. The CC had sort through the lottery situation today because I dropped the ball.
It's resolved. This should've been the results last night.
Re: League Announcements Discussion
Yeah the team finished 3rd. i was moved back 1 spot. i then won 2nd overall I moved back 3 spots to 5h... because reasons.
I was told I would be moved back 1 spot for the team missing GP. That is what I accepted. I did not agree to continual arbitrary punishment for something I had no involvement with.

Mik can repost the rule that you can't move up in the draft. That part I didn't fully understand but it was explained to me while we sorted this out.

Draft picks are precious in a league like this since we don't have free agency. Losing a position is a big deal to some.
With a lottery system, someone is going to be mad that they don't get the position they expect.
We all can't have it go our way.

This time of the year always brings out the worst in me. I hate losing things I have zero control over. Probably why I don't gamble with my money.

I hate having to enforce the GP rule but Kyle basically didn't do his part and manage his team.
Re: League Announcements Discussion
I was perfectly fine with losing 1 spot. I didn't lose 1 spot.
I lost 1 spot. Then 3 more.

I get why you're disappointed but what should we do about it other than not do a lottery.
We follow the NHL lottery results and we have a GP rule is in place to prevent blatant tanking.

Well, you weren't eligible to move up. That 2nd pick was never yours. You were either going to stay 4th or move back.
And you caught bad break with St. Louis moving up to #1.
Going forward, you're in full control of your team. You had to deal with the poor state of the roster and this GP situation when you took over.
Re: League Announcements Discussion
I could understand this ruling if this was my team that I lead to miss GP but I took over the team after the season was over and was already punished for the former GM missing GP.
Re: League Announcements Discussion
I don't get what's not to understand here. In no way should a team that misses be allowed to move up in the draft especially with the ridiculously low gp number required to hit. I remember a few years ago when I think it was Cliff that was the beneficiary of being moved back for missing gp and then won a lottery spot. Stuff like that shouldn't happen where you are rewarded for not doing the bare minimum of what the league requires. It still sucks for Lee, but he should've known what he was getting into.
