Re: BBKL policy for Centers and Wingers
Positional update has been completed.
Below you can find the players who had their position switched. On top of them, several duals have been fixed.
Please report in this thread any mistake you might notice, or any remaining players with dual positions I might have missed: once again, dual positions are not allowed in our league.
It's your responsibility to make you lineup legal accordingly with the new positions for next roster lock.

JT Miller
B.Schenn
McKegg
Nylander
Drouin
Sheahan

N.Schmaltz

If things change before Monday's roster lock (i.e. FOR moves back over/below the .45 threshold, or GP threshold is reached) making a player of yours eligible for the switch, you have time till Monday's roster lock to request the switch if you would like so. After Monday's lock positions (aside from mistanken ones like duals) are going to remain the same until the final update, scheduled to happen before our trade deadline.

Re: BBKL policy for Centers and Wingers
Not sure if I'm too late but Chandler Stephenson should be switched to a W and Eberle is listed as dual on fantrax and obviously needs to be just a W.
Re: BBKL policy for Centers and Wingers
you're not too late for that Stephenson guy I drafted (there is still tomorrow left) and duals will be fixed beyond tomorrow's lock as well (thanks for reporting about it)Arian The Insider wroteCOLONNot sure if I'm too late but Chandler Stephenson should be switched to a W and Eberle is listed as dual on fantrax and obviously needs to be just a W.
Anyways, both done.

Jimmy Brodzinski from C to W please.
Re: BBKL policy for Centers and Wingers

Re: BBKL policy for Centers and Wingers
This blows. I like the old 0.3 threshold. I just lost 3 centers and am now forced to make a trade? Can i not request keeping one a center? Its my loss that im not getting fow. What is the league count up to now for what we class as centers?
Re: BBKL policy for Centers and Wingers
You can always just dress one of your minor league centers. It means you will miss 3-4 gp per week, but it is an alternative that works.CAM wroteCOLONThis blows. I like the old 0.3 threshold. it's not like it came out of the blue though... you had the elements to know (and react) in advance it was going to happen once the first update was done. It's not a new rule either.CAM wroteCOLONThis blows. I like the old 0.3 threshold. I just lost 3 centers and am now forced to make a trade?
Re: BBKL policy for Centers and Wingers
I know its nothing new. I just think its not as perfect as we think. Using Pavelski as an example. He is 4th on his team in FOT yet in bbkl he is now classed as a winger. By that mentality, SJ only runs 3 lines with 3 centers. I know there will be these types of fringe players but big picture, something just isnt right if a player with the 4th most FOT is just a winger.
Re: BBKL policy for Centers and Wingers
He is 3rd most because he plays so many more minutes than the 4th line center. Look at it as a ratio of fot per minute.CAM wroteCOLONI know its nothing new. I doubt anyone thinks it is perfect, certainly that's not what I'm saying. I doubt there is a perfect system (that doesn't require us getting obsessed with it) but this system has proven to be a solid solution to the problems and endless discussions we had in the early years.CAM wroteCOLONI know its nothing new. As matthew suggested, the ratio of faceoffs taken per minute is what we focus on.
You might have a point if Pavelski is in Sharks' top 4 for that ratio, rather than in total FOT
Re: BBKL policy for Centers and Wingers
Can you please convert Ryan Spooner to center.
Total time on ice = 124:05
Total Faceoffs taken = 59
FOR = 0.48
Thanks

The non-rookie skater must have played 20 games for his position to change, unfortunately.CAM wroteCOLONCan you please convert Ryan Spooner to center.

Re: BBKL policy for Centers and Wingers
Mik, would it be possible to bring this to the CC for discussion? I would just like this one particular example to be brought up. (Pavelski) Mathew has a point with the ratio but like i mentioned, if a player who plays as much as he does and is 4th on the team in FOT yet is being considered a Winger only, i think something may be missing. If anything he is as dual eligibility as there is but we dont do that. I would just like this one guy to be looked at and considered. There is absolutely no advantage to me having him be a center. I think there is valid justification on my part when our goal has always been NHL emulation.kyuss wroteCOLONI doubt anyone thinks it is perfect, certainly that's not what I'm saying. Something is broke when a guy is 4th on the team in toal ice time and he is 4th on the team in faceoffs taken, yet he is being switched from Center to winger. Anyway he can be frozen at Center until this is looked at so i can have a legal roster?
Re: BBKL policy for Centers and Wingers
We don't use dual. He plays winger a lot more often than he plays center, as per the ratio. (There are NHL wingers who qualified as centermen, so he isn't even in the top amongst NHL wingers - William Nylander, for example).CAM wroteCOLONMik, would it be possible to bring this to the CC for discussion? At your request it can be and will be brought up in CC, but I feel the ruling will go against you as it is a very clear and precise rule, and picking and choosing specific players will set a poor precedent for the future.
A thread in cc has been created.
