I think Ekholm, especially with that contract for the next 6yrs, is certainly worth more than #8 overall in this year draft. Don't you think?
He's been great in the playoffs and was just selected for the World Cup ahead of Klingberg, to put things in perspective.

Deal fits my team somehow, but it's not a value deal obviously

I personally think value is good. Ekhlom doesn't have the upside of a Dubuis.

Ekholm is another Dman who is much more valuable in the NHL than BBKL. Having being selected for the WC has no bearing on BBKL value. A little much for 8th, but lots of good players around there.

I'm sure Mik has multiple targets for 8th overall. You don't make a trade before the draft if that isn't your approach.
