I saw him shopping and bumping his block for the pick for a long time. No one can say they didn't know it was available. I think the hype is at a high right now and if he puts up 53pts doesn't hit, PK or take any penalties and is 44% on the draw the shine might wear off a bit. He added 2 picks in this draft so the Rush was to get it done before the draft and since he shopped him for so long anyone who wanted him had inquired.

lol bryuns man like i said nothing against any advisors on this (once again... these arent official advisors right?... cuz dallas shouldnt need any)
but if you guys truly wanted to advise a BAD TEAM like dallas?... best advice wouldve been:

"wait, and do not just get shoveled offer and become the beggar. Become a chooser when it comes to mcdavid"

this is one of the worst cases of a team who desperately needs proper help who for some reason chose to become the beggar out of a situation

I wasn't arguing that people didn't know he was on the block. I just believe he could have gotten better value and based on what you're saying regarding his pts totals, pk ability, hitting, fow etc. He had a bit more time to wait it out.

All the hypotheticals of you should have demanded Ott 1st or Benn or better players etc. don't matter since Mike wasn't going to do that and made a strong offer and was standing by it. Mike added from his original offer which was significantly less,
were you guys some secretly assigned "mcdavid sweepstakes advisor"? I dont get any of this shit... like why does this guy need 2 people to advise him on this? for what?

also quoted bit makes someone like me even more fired up... thats gotta be one of the lamest explanation as to why he "had to end up taking this offer"

again, if this was the case, best advice is "fuck that, and move on...wait"

He probably didn't have much time to wait it out. I was under the impression that the deal was dead - what turned out to be the deal was the highest I was going to go. I was beginning to make plans to move Krug separately. Had he not done this deal I wouldn't have been a trade candidate anymore. Since nobody else was going to offer (or could offer?) this amount of assets his only other choice was to not trade the pick.

Not official advisor since his period he needed that has expired.

I've told you I have no issues with your stance too and everyone is entitled to their own opinions. You and others might be right and all the futures could end up nothing special or they could end up turning his team around and maybe he ends up with 6-8 quality NHLers that will end up helping him more than one guy and maybe one of the 3 1sts even ends up being a bbkl superstar.

I only took offence to people claiming he should have demanded more. Do you really think he didn't ask? Do you think Mike made one offer and he accepted? It's a free market and that was deemed the best offer. It's true maybe someone offers more but he liked the 15 picks and can it not also be possible that no one was going to offer more or had the assets to offer more. Saying wait and don't trade him now is fine, but if he misses out on 15 1sts and never gets a better offer than waiting hurts the potential return.

He had 4-5 months before mcdavid would potentially see a hit in his value IMO.

I applaud you for the trade, makes playing your team even more of a challenege but what can yah do.

Matt, you, i and everyone else here knows the chances of him getting an impact player out of those '15 firsts is very slim.

Also there was probably no trade that everyone in the league would agree yes this is perfectly even and the exact value of one McDavid. Of course a potential generational talent who has never stepped on NHL ice is going to generate controversy if traded.

Let's get back on topic here though, why can't Lee dress one goalie and everyone played favourites with Mik and were mean to him.

Yeah, I really like this for Mike.

I guess we're all bias towards our own offers, I thought David Krejci + 3rd overall was pretty solid, but obviously I was way off. I know I would not trade that for what Mike gave up for 1st overall. But I didn't have 15 assets to offer up.

Thank you for all the love and support. I personally think most of the hate of the deal is from the fact that Mike landed him. I mean guys who saw his offer when he posted in the thread were like wow and I got him to add and pushed him to his breaking point. McDavid could meet Kimmy one night and get hooked on coke and hookers before he even steps on the ice who knows. Most of you guys wanted him in Toronto so now you got your wish lol

Me disliking the deal has nothing to do with mike landing him.

Has to do with the return. I wasn't a fan of mikes offer from the start.

Why didn't u take Mathews deal? I know why ;).....it was fake and all a ploy to get people to try and up their offers :P
