I don't think Tampa can be skipping when less than 5 hrs have passed since my pick?

The last pick before yours (Ottawa) was San Jose at 11:44 AM yesterday.

The Ottawa pick you traded for expired at 7:44 PM.

Tampa Bay was on the clock Until 3:44 AM

Ottawa is back on the clock until 11:44 AM

All times MST. It has already been established that a new timer doesn't start when a pick is traded.

ahh, thx for clarifying, makes sense.

Didn't realize I was potentially skipping when I made my pick, Billy managed to agree and post the deal after I went to bed..

so Billy on the clock for 3 more hrs (and something)

I get PMed at 1am, well after time to go to sleep, - check BBKL at a very reasonable 10am on a workday knowing I have an upcoming pick, and find I have been skipped..there's no need to rush this, NHL draft isn't for a few more days yet.

Lee you updating the skipped/traded picks and counting hours that weren't known is horrible practice & not something I believe the league would support. Picks elapse - we agree, but notice of having an active pick is part of this as well.

You are in the CC, you decided on the rules, not me.

Like all our rules - use a reasonable lens - these were not written by or for lawyers. You are choosing to interpret them in a vicious manner wherein picks are skipped without GMs getting their pick window.

You had an 8 hour window.

While we are using a reasonable lens, can we bend the draft age a bit to accomodate me drafting someone eligible for next year but not this one?

Nick buddy Lee's not being malicious. He's merely repeating the rules we set. The overnight rule applies only to the first 3 rounds (I believe). After that it's gone. This isn't news and Lee shouldn't be chastised for upholding the rules.

^^ agreed, its been brought up many times before that we should have a 6-8 he dead time where picks can't be skipped and cc has never adopted it, so we go by the rules as they are.. Btw, I was not aware we had a rule for the first 3 rounds, don't see anything in the section where Scott posted rules in the first post..

There was no such rule, Luke. We had a 12 hour window for the first 3 rounds instead.

Sorry my mistake, youre right Lee. I remember now that picks used to be 8 hours across the board but we bumped the first 3 rounds to 12 hours to compensate for the overnight. So there's no official rule per say but we modified the time frame to compensate. Either way Lee did nothing wrong IMO.

The 8-hour window since the 4th round has been consistently enforced in this draft. I'd at least hope that people are being notified their turn is up and if they don't post their pick in time and they're skipped, that's on them.

At this stage in the game, we just want to see this through to the last pick so if 8 hour passes between turns, we've got to move on because it's happened other guys earlier in the draft. Everyone has the opportunity to still pick after the fact.

All that being said...did Nick miss out on a guy he wanted by being skipped? If not, no harm no foul. People continue to PM the next guy in line and the 8 hour window will continue to be enforced as before. I think we'd all like this done by Friday.

There was almost a 24 hour lull in picks made on time, so safe to say his guy probably wasn't taken.
