I really fucking hate giving up Roussel. People talk about championship pieces, this guy, this year, is one of them. Stupid stats at 600k.

With that said, Schultz has all world talent and is only 23.

925,000 cap hit

but

3,775,000 AAV

CBS says 3.775

TSN was talking about this dallas kid the other night, said they weren't sure if he was a one hit wonder or he was going to become the next Ott....they were saying very few guys can keep up this style of play for more than a few years. Other than Ott, they couldn't think of someone who's done it more than 5 years.

Sure I win the stats but I think Roussel is a darn good player. Seems like Dallas management and coaching staff love him. This guy is a super pest with some offensive flair. Reminds me of a young Burrows/Cooke/Ott. And those types of guys are super hard to acquire. He's a steal at 600k this year too.

I agree with you, and this may look genius down the road, but as of right now this is a home run value wise for Lee. Just my opinion though.

If Roussel is a one hit wonder, I'm not sure what Schultz is..

I agree with you, and this may look genius down the road, but as of right now this is a home run value wise for Lee. Just my opinion though.

Yep for sure. Schultz plays 25 mins a game with EDM and they def see him as a key cog on their defence.

Not many players are offering the value per $ that Roussel is right now. Big PIMs but contributes across the board unlike a conventional goon. If I were a team looking to compete this season he would be a great addition, but he definitely paid up to land him so can't fault Lee for adding a pick and a player that likely carries more value league wide.
