Not going to lie, I prefer the Winnipeg goalies. Especially without Raanta.

odd deal for Shiv from my seat… reliable tending is worth a lot for a contender, now shook has it and he doesn't.

As an owner of the peg system last year this confuses me for shiv.

They are hot and cold with no consistency. I'd take the hawks goalies over the peg's 7 days a week.

The only down side to this deal is shook needs to get that kid who's backing up crawford right now

I don't care about him too much. Crawford plays a ton and Knabby will be back for the playoffs so if I don't get Raanta who cares. That is something I will worry about in the offseason.

Edler is a nice asset heading to Shiv too, but ya I'd prefer Crawford even with his 6M contract starting next season to Pavelec.

Lol haven't even made an offer. He is a part time backup, I doubt he will cost me much anyways when the time comes I do.

I never make a move unless I believe it increases my odds of winning. Here were my reasons:

1. WPG's schedule during the BBKL playoffs is awesome.
2. The week when our "conference finals" would happen, CHI plays away @ BOS and PIT as part of a 4 game week. As much as I think CHI is better, that is too risky in a GW when I will likely be facing TOR or TBL when I get there (hopefully).
3. Beyond just who they face during in the BBKL playoffs, CHI has an awful schedule of home and aways and back-to-backs where the opponents always get more time to prep than they do.
4. WPG is home a LOT in our BBKL playoffs, where they are difficult to beat.
5. The WPG tandem is super young. I think that team has a good core in place and I love watching them.
6. Pavelec's SV% numbers have been better than Crawfords this year with a far inferior team in front of him. I'm a big believer in the SV% stat.
7. Receiving Edler is no joke. I got him on a downswing. He is one of the best d-men to own in BBKL period. To get him without touching any one of my super stud Cs was huge for me.
8. Josh wants an arm and a leg for Raanta. IMO anyways. I have had Spezza + Drew Miller for Hudler + Roy + Raanta rejected.
9. If I wasn't getting Raanta, there is a huge risk here IMO because Khabi absolutely SUCKS (unlike Montoya who is a great backup). Every time he has started this year, he has given up like 4 goals or gotten pulled. With CHI's tough schedule during our playoffs, he would start.
10. Crawford's risk of injury is high IMO and the odds of it increase each time he plays more games. He's on pace for like 72+ starts
