Re: PIT/FLA
I think the deal was fair without Peverley and Selanne on either side. Overpayment on my end with those two.
But meh, you have to give to get. I know I wouldn't have budged if someone was trying to get Plekanec or Pavelski from me.
Also: Spezza, Carter, Plekanec, Pavelski down the middle

Re: PIT/FLA
Considering 4 of those players points total won't most likely even match Spezza's alone, ya, dunno if the depth is worth it

So a top line C and a top 6 W for a trio of bottom 6ers and an injured top pairing D.... I think the picks are really what made this even...

I think it is bang on even...This gives a very good Dman (once he returns) and more depth. + it will allow me now to make another trade that I have been wanting to make for some time.

Just because Giordano is injured, he has no value?Sensfanjosh wroteCOLONSo a top line C and a top 6 W for a trio of bottom 6ers and an injured top pairing D.... I think the picks are really what made this even...

Selanne is going to retire at the end of this yr.... I have been shopping him around, and have got very little interest in him. I have to get something for him now, as I am trying to compete this season, but I really have 0 chance if I make the playoffs. I want to keep this season interesting, but have to look past this yr.

Re: PIT/FLA
That is the logical conclusion.... No Shiv he has value but it should be decreased seeing as he won't be playing for weeks. To pay with healthy players equal value on an injured player is silly in my opinion because you lose cats in the present and hope to break even long term value wise.

I have 7 healthy Dman at the moment. Now more than ever was the chance for me to add a Giordano

So the next thing you're going to be shopping around for is a #1 C correct? Seeing as you now have a surplus of D?

I might ship out NSH 1st line centreman David Legwand for Jake Muzzin +Florida Chris wroteCOLONSensfanjosh wroteCOLONThat is the logical conclusion.... Mabey, but I don't mind my C's now.
Stastny
Peverley
Brodziak
Backlund
Fiddler
The FO will be covered here with these guys...As long as I get scoring else where, I don't necessarily need to upgrade at C.

Lol Josh is so mad.
Re: PIT/FLA
Smart move by Chris to capitalize on moving Selanne while he still had a chance. Trade makes Shiv a better team than before the deal and he gets the best piece, but I understand why Chris would want to do this.
Re: PIT/FLA
damn - another team enters the top flight of FOW teams.
Seems a little cheap for Spezza IMO, but he is always hurt and so streaky it's likely an okay deal. Assuming Giro returns on time and in form.
