MTL - CGY Deal (The Cap Strikes Back)
To CGY:
Jiri Hudler
Reece Scarlett
To MTL:
Nick Spaling
Christian Thomas
2015 2nd Rounder (CGY)
Fantastic talks as always Josh! Had no space for injury call ups and my team is dropping like flies before Week 1 even starts.

Nick Spaling was horse shit at camp, out played by all the kids
Thomas is a tiny prospect who can't crack an NHL roster.
Essentially chuck traded Hudler for a 2nd IMO

Re: MTL - CGY Deal (The Cap Strikes Back)
Btw - this kind of deal along with the Thomas deal were expected today. Some GMs were going to get killed because of cap.
Re: MTL - CGY Deal (The Cap Strikes Back)
I am amazed there are not more of them...or chuck is the first to decide he wants some flexibility back.
Re: MTL - CGY Deal (The Cap Strikes Back)
theres been a few nick, theyve just been spread out.
The duck hunter had to flip bryce salvador, darrel powe and blake wheeler for tarasenko just to get some flexibility.

Thats exactly it. I had 148k in space but with Peverley and Clitsome out along with Elias as questionable I didn't have much of a choice. Out of all my rostered guys Hudler was the easiest to move. I openly admit to taking a shit deal but I have enough assets I can turn it around with other deals. In the mean time I have the enviable problem of owning too many Centers.Nick wroteCOLONI am amazed there are not more of them...or chuck is the first to decide he wants some flexibility back.
Re: MTL - CGY Deal (The Cap Strikes Back)
Not speaking bad about this trade at all Chuck. I made lots of similar deals earlier in the summer for the same reasons - as many did - but i'm surprised there are not more GMs doing it right before week 1 as well.

Lots of cap space in Calgary yet if there are deals to be made...
Re: MTL - CGY Deal (The Cap Strikes Back)
Yea...i have had to make some tough decisions this offseason. I do not want to even look at the in/out of what i did. Prob give me a heart attack. Thats what happens when you have multiple players get contracts in the 5-7 mil dollar range. But.....that also means my roster was stacked with some talent, hence leading to a BBKL Cup! I don't consider myself a contender this year. Trade that hurts me the most was giving up Spurgeon for basically AHL Jeff Schultz, and leaving me down a dman.KapG wroteCOLONtheres been a few nick, theyve just been spread out.
